Tigerair Australia Delays/Cancellations

Tuesday 22nd of Jan sees TT550 MEL-OOL arrive at 10 02, 92 min behind (A320 VH-VOR). This had a flow effect on TT553 OOL-MEL which was airborne at 10 38, has now a suggested arrival at 13 33, 73 min late.

On Wednesday 23 January, TT221, the 0845 hours SYD down to MEL airborne at 0940 has A320 VH-VNK and should arrive at 1055 hours, 35 late.

TT813 (VH-VND), the 0945 hours BNE down to CBR was in the sky at 1100 so arrival should be 1325, 50 late.

B738 VH-VUB on TT233, the scheduled 1130 hours SYD down to MEL took off at 1249 so arrival should be at 1408, 63 late.

In more on 23 January 2019, TT396 (1205 hours SYD up to PPP, A320 VH-VNG) did not become airborne until 1456 so arrival at 1611, 151 late is the likely outcome.

TT224 (Thursday 24 January 2019, the 1825 hours MEL up to SYD that took off at 1926 with B738 VH-VOR) is arriving at 2035 hours, 45 late.

The next flight for this aircraft, the 2025 hours evening SYD down to MEL took off at 2126 as TT279. Arrival looks to be 2235, 35 late.

On Friday 25 January, the day of the planned Tigerair stopwork between 0500 and 0900 hours, winds were gusting at 0912 hours at MEL to 72kmh. MEL is on single runway ops with the east-west shorter runway 09/27 not in use.

By 1015, the number of aircraft queuing for ATC's OK for takeoff was quite high.

TT451 (A320 VH-VNC, the 0915 hours MEL - ADL) was still queuing as at 1025, so it will be at least an hour late arriving in the wine capital.

VH-VNO on TT550, the 0725 hours MEL - OOL is far worse as it departed at 1011 but was much further back in the queue.

TT214 is also having a bad hair day, as B738 VH-VUB on this 0800 hours MEL - SYD had not taken off as at 1105, so will be three hours late into the northern capital.

TT700 (0705 hours MEL - CFS) is worst of all with B738 VH-VUD in the sky at 1120, about four hours late.

In further consequences of this morning's pilots' stopwork, TT522, the 1130 hours MEL up to BNE (A320 VH-VNF) took off at 1330 so will be about 100 minutes late arriving.

Tt590 (Friday 25 January, the 1505 hours mid afternoon MEL - CNS) has A320 VH-VNO but by 1823 had yet to take off, another result of the four hire strike this morning by TT flight crew seeking more money.

VH-VNR is on ADL across to MEL TT900 that took off at 1702 hours. It is arriving at 1835 and may be a 'ferry' (empty) flight due to the earlier strike.

Later on Friday 25 January, TT314 (1740 hours ADL - BNE, A320 VH-VNF), the 1740 hours in the air at 1903 should arrive at 2043, 73 late.

Saturday 26 January's TT451 (A320 VH-VNC, the 0915 hours morning MEL across to ADL not in the air until 1012) should arrive at 1048, 38 minutes late.

The Sunday 27 January TT387 from BNE will have to contend with severe storms around SYD so predicted arrival at 2213, 33 late may be further put back. A320 VH-XUG is the aircraft.

TT755, the 2025 hours SYD across to PER (A320 VH-VNH) did not take off until 2205 so it willbe about 80 minute slate arriving.

Later on 3 February, TT233, the late morning scheduled 1135 hours from SYD down to MEL took off at 1350 with A320 VH-XUG. Arrival should be at 1501 hours, 116 late.

Into the evening of Sunday 3 February, TT532 (1605 hours MEL up to BNE also with VH-XUG that featured in the previous post) took off at 1939, so predicted arrival is 2043, 203 minutes late. This delay is 50 per cent more than with TT233 mentioned above, showing how delays can compound as a day wears on.

TT213 (0700 hours SYD down to MEL, A320 VH-VNG) on Monday 4 February took off at 0745, so expected arrival is 0905 hours, half an hour behind schedule.

With storms around MEL but not immediately overhead as at 1905 hours on Wednesday 6 February, TT263, the 1725 hours SYD - MEL airborne at 1800 (A320 VH-XUH) had a missed approach on runway 27 at about 1906 hours. QF1016 also poreviously had one and VA168, latter ex AKL, two.

TT264 (1825 hours MEL - SYD was the air at 1913, VH-VOR - B738) should arrive at 2024, 34 late.

UPDATE: TT263 landed in MEL at 1931, so it will be 36 late arriving at the terminal.

TT528 (1430 hours mid afternoon MEL - BNE on Wednesday 6 February 2019, A320 VH-VNR) is having a shocker of an evening with storms in Melbourne not helping. It took off at 1938 so arrival should be at about 2037 hours, 292 minutes late.

Storms that commenced in Sydney during the late afternoon of Friday 8 February 2019 are causing havoc to airline schedules with the ADL across to SYD TT642 no exception. This 1720 hours timetabled pushback took off at 1757, about 20 - 25 late but arrival is suggested as about 2052, 72 late for A320 VH-VNF, showing how much time can be lost due to adverse weather and then the compounding delay effect of too many aircraft trying to arrive and depart from Australia's busiest airport (SYD).

Tt238, the Tuesday 12 February 1305 hours lunchtime MEL - SYD took off at 1409. Arrival is estimated as 1513, 43 late.
