i am flyin of their inagural day, im gonna record the landing, takeoff, emergency procedures, in flight, seating etc on video and will post on youtube so that everyone can see them!!!!

Dunno how you are planning on doing this when your phone/camera should be switched off.

Incidentally I was out at MEL last night dropping my brother off (is it just me that finds it weird to be at an airport and not be in the lounge, or getting on a flight?) and saw the TT taxiing and taking off. Nicely turned out aircraft.

TT - THEY AIN’T NO cough! With a +$10 change fee (time AND/OR route), I can see no need for any Australian to ever pay for a “Flexible Fare” on the incumbents ever again! (Can’t wait to see where the other 2 Australian hubs TT’s been chatting about, end up... plus more/better routes & planes)
I don't think QF or DJ are too concerned about TT just at the moment - they really are targeting different sections of the market. JQ on the other hand must be wringing their hands, as is evident by their behaviour of late. It may well force them to add some customer service to their routine.

RISK: Backed by two of the biggest airlines in the worldRyanair & Singapore Airlines, there is more risk in booking a QF domestic flight and seeing that brand go belly up domestically.

I was refering to the possible issues of first days handling of bags etc. Just general inexperience.
Not that i thought they would be in touble with money etc.

I'm not really worried about that risk - it's the risk of initial hiccups that may cause delays and cancellations that worry me.

Having flown Tiger in Asia - I doubt it.

Agreed, until Tiger hits Sydney! (Not Newcastle, because that’s even less Sydney than Geelong is Melbourne.)

So, Sydney hopefully depends on this Saturday, either via; re-regulation at Kingsford Smith (should Labor win) or de-regulation at Bankstown (should Liberals win).

As for start-up stuff-ups, true, my first flight with TT isn’t until mid-January, thankfully. But getting their CASA approval 1st go, is a good sign! (comparatively)

"Tigers Inagural Flight Buildup"

i see that they have a countdown timer, cool:rolleyes:

wonder if they have a huge "FIrst Plane Departure" sale

COMMUNITY, on the mel air website i searched T, and found this

date flight # depart to sced est gate
22/11 TT 9541 LAUNCESTON 10:30 10:30 3

date flight # arrive fr sced est gate
22/11 TT 9542 LAUNCESTON 12:50 12:50 3

What makes you think it's another proving flight? Airlines often have flights for different reasons - training pilots, moving equipment around, testing landings/take-offs or ground equipment in different airports.

Aggreed, i guess its better for the airline to do all this, we are the ones the are trying to impress, GO TIGER:cool:

ALSO, i read someone on the net, cant find which news article now, it said that TT were having 3 a/c and 1 was ex sing, and 2 were brand spanking NEW from toulose in france????????????I confused, can anyone CONFIRM how many planes are HERE now, and how many of those are ex SIng and BRAND NEW, really appeciate it THANKS

I was not aware that ALP Federal Policy was to re-regulate Kingsford Smith. Can't see that happening.

I also was of the belief that you'll never see larger commercial aircraft at Bankstown now. They've been selling land off all around the edges of the airport for industrial use. I went out there a few years ago with an agent to peruse an empty block that was going to be redeveloped (we declined) but I understand that was all going ahead.

Tiger have 4 aircraft in the country for TT ops, 2 are ex-TR, the other 2 straight from Airbus.

VH-VNB and VH-VND are ex-TR maunfactured in 2006, VH-VNC is new from Airbus, not sure about the rego for number 4 (before anyone asks, VH-VNE is already taken :p)

TONY DAVIS QUOTED:
The carrier took a dig at
competitors by saying it has
secured approvals on time
and under budget “unlike
previous entrants to the
Australian domestic market”. cant wait for Westaway's response

HAd to quote it so I could read it.

Being under budget is not exactly a big claim - set the budget high and you will have no problems coming in under budget.

I do find it strange that you would leave you holiday in the lap of the gods so to speak - what was your back up plan if they didnt get approval?

I think it's time we stopped feeding him :!:

... and that's my last comment on the subject.
