Flight delays are not always that bad. ;)

Currently waiting for my SIN-HKG flight and it is delayed due to late arrival of inbound aircraft. Have a few hours to kill in HKG so sitting in lounge in SIN is a much better option.

Although boarding has just been announced.

Can't agree with this. Spent a few very pleasant hours in the wing F lounge last night.....even as a temporary set-up it covers SIN in all departments!

HKG lounges, I'm fairly sure, are not 24 hours. Happy to be corrected on that, though the next challenge of course is getting back airside in HKG with no BP and perhaps with some difficulty if your next flight is hours away.

At least SIN Skyview is 24 hours. That said, of course I still like HKG better than SIN.

Tomahawk - Japanese style!

Ordered this at New York Grill, PH Tokyo Sunday evening when the Typhoon was centring in on Tokyo :- Ended up just a very strong storm by the time it hit Tokyo however, the wind was enough to keep us in-doors for the evening.

What was very pleasing was the number of people that approached us in stores & the streets warning us to be in-doors by 6pm due to the impending typhoon.....frighten the kids a little however, what a wonderful community spirit!

The formality of the Japanese is breathtaking.........a bowing station attendant welcoming a bullet train into the station.
About 18 months SWHMO and I watched from Tokyo terminus our inbound com in and disgorge passengers.

Then cleaners and caterers boarded an small silver chains were deployed to bar passengers from entering.

About five minutes later the servicing was completed and all the staff exited the train and in a co-ordinated movement bowed to the awaiting passengers.

That really hit home the formality.

And the attendants on the train usually bow each time they enter your carriage!

I don't disagree that HKG F Lounges are better than the ones in SIN but I would have preferred SIN as it is a 24 hour airport.

Definitely not 24 hours. The Pier closed at 12:30am and does not open until 6:00am. The Wing opens at 5:30am. Nothing much else happening although it is extremely quiet with a lack of people to annoy me. ;)

As for boarding pass it was not issued in BKK this (yesterday) morning and I picked it up at the transfer desk in HKG at 12:10am. I am airside and do not need to go landside until the morning as I have the whole airport to myself.

And free internet.

Sounds like it all worked for you then. I hope you manage to get some rest through the night.

I think I have managed to get through it unscathed. I got some sleep on the SIN-HKG flight and some sleep on the seats near the Pier First Class lounge in the morning.

Now planning my next mischievous routing.
