Can someone please help?

I don't know whether there is a problem with 3 Mobile broadband or Windows Vista but the list of websites I cannot access is growing.

The latest is QFF, Flyertalk are no longer easily accessible on Internet Explorer v8.

The one that gets me the most is I cannot log in to my Priority Club account with either Internet Explorer or Firefox. Internet Explorer stutters but Firefox immediately displays message "Can't find server at secure.ichotelsgroup.com".

I have searched Google extensively and have not been able to find a solution. I have tried clearing cookies, cache, changes advanced settings for Internet Explorer and Firefox and still no solution.

I am guessing this is not going to be a simple fix. Assuming there is a fix....

Coles have a Virgin modem for $45 from tomorrow with 5Gb included, might be time to change to a new network?

I am on 3 mobile broadband at present. No problems accessing FT or QFF or any other site at present.

Purchase another mobile broadband modem? The current one has cost me $240 and I was hoping that it is able to be used with other mobile broadband providers if I chose to leave 3 Mobile.

Well obviously it must some sort of settings on my Lenovo laptop. From memory I did not play around with any settings when I first got the laptop so not sure why I am having these issues.

Its more than likely the 3 network, and you can always get your modem unlocked, for $45 for 5Gb its not a bad way of trying an alternative and having a backup.

Make sure you dont have access connections running, it can mess with IP routing and DNS settings.

IE8 at work now. QF works better than on IE6 (the previous work install).

If I have time I will check it out.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about although someone at work mentioned something about DNS settings.

I know stuff all about laptops or internet settings. These things are supposed to be plug and play.

Lenovo have some access connections software that take control of the network settings and may takeover the default TCP/IP settings etc, shutdown the Access Connections.exe service in task manager and see if that makes a difference.

Just to check before I get to Australia, if I buy duty free when arriving into Australia, I can take the duty free in the bag it came in on my domestic flight MEL-BNE without any worries of LAGS right?

Or do I need to check it?

You do not need to check it!!!

As long as it departs from the domestic terminal (there's no "intl" MEL-bne flights so you'll be fine).

No LAG on domestic. Acronym lag, there's usually plenty of "lag" in the timing of domestic MEL-BNE and vv.

And I thought my Virgin Modem was a good buy at $89, The Virgin BB Network is gold, It doesn't seem to suffer the same problems that Optus does:rolleyes:

John,

Have you tried downloading safari? or is that a no-go zone, everything seems to work fine with safari for me (except A-Club sometimes, but I think thats more accor's fault than my computer)

I thought it was on the Optus network.

As is my understanding, the only Optus intervention is from the mobile tower to the server, then it gets handed over to iSeek communications who takes it from there on behalf of Virgin.

They use totally different servers than the rest of the Optus resellers, I think
