i.e. it is that colourful polymer stuff which you put in your wallet or purse and use to pay for your meal, drinks and corkage!
I am not sure I understand, I have colourful plastic in my wallet and enables me to purchase stuff and I get to keep the plastic ;) On the subject of corkage will my 'goon bag' be exempt as it has neither a cork or a screw cap :p

As I didn't get any sensible answers re my Kina may I ask that I get an appropriate answer by Tuesday when I get to the next atm which is in Rabaul.

Crikey, this thread has escalated!

@cove I remember that we once shared a few exxy bottles of something which may have been Pinot Noir, but don't tell CE!

[Very much off topic of the dinner... ]

The two great Burgundy and Champagne varietals of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir seem to be particularly polarising in the wine world, especially in Australia. Most people seem to love them or hate them.

Personally I find that the difference between a "good", and "bad" example of both varieties to be so significant that it really is like dealing with 'chalk and cheese', or 'apples and oranges', as they are completely worlds apart.

Some new world Pinot Noir is undrinkable dishwater which I can only assume was bottled and sold to satisfy accountants or bankers because if I was a winemaker I wouldn't want to put my name to that cough. However, there are many high quality wines made from the variety, many of which have more body, structure, tannin, and complexity than a lot of people would realise, especially those who shun the variety.

YMMV.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

With all this this Pinot, non-Pinot talk, someone must have rung Qantas and asked them to put the most pathetic sugar-y Pinot Noir imaginable in their MEL Domestic Business Lounge the other day. It has more sugar than a glass of Bickfords!

It was so terrible that I rapidly developed the opinion that it was best left in the bottle, and kept at a Covid-safe distance… despite what @boomy says about the Qantas wine offerings
