I've been turned off by the vaccine watch recently. When its such a central focus, the change to AIR data seemed to hurt the whole situation - probably resulting in much lost data.........

So I'll probably be back in 1.5 weeks time (similar to how I felt when they reallocated from ACT to NSW correctly and reallocations of NT to ???) but I'm not sure whether I got back also due to the release of the weekly geographic data set......

Yes the change was annoying and it is still confusing me……However it’s hard to shake an addiction :)
 
It will be interesting to see when first jabs start to slow day in NSW. At this stage is 80 per cent first jabs is tipped to come in a month, so we should be weeks away from a hypothetical weakening of demand or we might see that way over 80% of Aussies are willing to get the vaccine.

Considering the outbreak, if NSW starts to crawl before then, you'd think other states aka QLD and WA will struggle to reach 80%. What will happen in the coming month in NSW will be helpful for the rest of the country to know what in incentives/bribes might need be offered so we can hit 80% double dosed and be set free into the wild.

I'm prepared to suggest Sydney is 15% higher (ie less hesitants)......NSW probably 5% at the moment....how that translates to figures I don't know.

I don’t think anyone’s blaming them - the blame lies squarely with the crazy people who are targeting them with lies and misinformation. As well country people (not just indigenous) thought they were safe and had time - there was an element of that in Canberra as well……

We are going to have big problems in regional QLD too with these religious nut bags, not just amongst our indigenous population either….
 
Tassie tourism in dire straits and will remain so while border restrictions pop up and down randomly, so they are calling for fully vaccinated people to be allowed in, all the time, period.

Tasmania's peak tourism body is calling on the state government to consider a rule that would require all visitors into the state to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Key points:​

  • Tasmania's peak tourism body will raise a plan with the state government that would see visitors only enter the state if they have been vaccinated against COVID-19
  • The Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania says ongoing border closures and hard lockdowns are not sustainable for local tourism businesses
  • Tourism operators say the proposal would provide security for their businesses and restore confidence to travellers

The head of the tourism body said he would like to see all tourists from every state have both jabs before entering Tasmania, not just those coming from hotspots.

55-59 is the second 5 year age group to achieve over 1 million first doses.

70+ should go past 55% fully vaccinated when today's numbers are released tomorrow.

A second age group (80-84) has reached 85% first doses

20-24 has reached 10% fully vaccinated.

TAS has reached 60.2% of 70+ fully vaccinated.

SA has reached 49.94% of 70+ fully vaccinated, so when today's numbers are released tomorrow all states and territories will have gone past 50% fully vaccinated for 70+.

Was has reached 25.06% of 16+ fully vaccinated, so all states and territories have over 25% of 16+ fully vaccinated.

Thanks. Just passed this on to the last family member who needs a vaccination then the whole clan is done. Based in Queeanbeyan.

Turns out she's booked AZ on 28 August even though in her twenties as many of our family sweet young things have gone the AZ route but to get faster coverage she may well rebook for Pfizer. Or they may give that anyway given what is happening.
