Looking like a nice number available on the night. Others are welcome! As to venue, I don't have any preference but would prefer if the drinks / dinner venue be at the same location; it would also be nice if the location chosen is not too loud so that a decent conversation can be held without the need to yell. As it is a weeknight, I'm not planning for a VERY late night!

I could suggest the pub next to my hotel for a venue, but I wonder if it is up to people's standards. It has a good range of beers and the meals are decent, basic pub grub. It is also out of the city. I can offer a 10% discount

I find the quality of the Heineken equal at most venues, just the price tastes better - i.e. $3.00 for a Heineken @square vs $$$ elsewhere. Drinks I loudly vote square as I am travelling from West Hoxton - thats a $30 taxi fare to train, then 1 hour on train, so I am not overly keen on spending anymore on getting to another venue. In the best of spirits, I will gracefully bow out if the event drinks (dont care where we eat) are elsewhere... No hard feelings intended!

Come on! It's drinks surely no need for hard feelings regardless. I would note that brisbane drinks are always at the same venue, if this is going to be a regular thing perhaps the same venue is a good idea. :?: Anyway, I hope you'll be there, even if it sounds like you won't.

Yeah mate - in the best of circumstances though! (not looking for sympathy or anything - if I was I would have to use a dictionary around you lot!)


I think its best not to push my view on venue too hard to suit my circumstances, so not wanting anyone to have any hard feelings if the square bar was chosen as venue, I just think it's best to let you guys sort out an alternative, then if circumstances allow, I will join in next time.

Keep the suggestions coming for the venue, please. As said before, I would prefer the drinks / dinner to be the same place if possible. Also has to be not too noisy.
