SYD Flounge with kids

I would be facing divorce if I travelled enough to make P1! Even with more J travel, it's going to be touch and go just keeping WP - though I was figuring if the fam could experience the Flounge, it may make future negotiations easier regarding creative routings to meetings in BNE and SYD!

As an aside, what have people's experiences been with getting more than getting more than 2 kids into the Flounge? I am going to ZQN with the wife and 4 kids (14 down to 9) in a couple of months and as a newly minted WP would love to experience the Flounge for the first time. Have never had a problem getting everyone into the QP/ int J lounge but I imagine QF may be more strict with this one?

You should not have a problem with 4 kids. QF are flexible with kids under 18 when traveling on a QF flight and metal, although the rules state 2. They will treat kids as guests when traveling under the OW rules.

It may just depend on the lounge staff on the day and how busy they are.

Note with the burgers, ensure they cook the meat right the way through. Once had a burger for then Miss 6 yr old come out med-rare. We only found out as we cut it in half for her.

I've never had a burger in either F lounge, nor indeed in any lounge anywhere as far as I recall, but would possibly be tempted if they cooked them medium rare. Though I can appreciate that could be a stretch for a 6yo to consume.

I've had a burger in the Pier F Lounge. May try one in other lounges too, but I have burgers a fair bit anyway and like to try some more expensive things in the lounges.

You will have no problem with partner/wife/husband plus two children under 17 getting into the QF First Lounge.
The Children's menu does not appear to have changed from the 4 years since I was first told about it and used it first First Little Miss Blackcloud.
IIRC Burgers (fish) have been in the QF First Lounge, including a dose of mould on the bun for one AFFer.

Have taken our kids into both the MEL and SYD Flounges and they did not count as guests.

In MEL, it was a morning flight, so all they ate was toast

SYD was an early afternoon flight and they both enjoyed the burgers and fries.

The QF guesting policy is much more generous than many airlines. We recently flew through HKG with CX. Couldn't get access to any CX lounges (I've now dropped to SG so only 1 guest and kids count as guests) so were grateful to be able to take my wife and two kids into the QF lounge.

Have done it twice with three kids; 14, 12, 9 without any dramas.

Once was to ZQN in 2015.

Wasn't even questioned, just a warm welcome.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but happy to report that my 4 kids (14,13,12,9) were welcomed without question into the SYD Flounge on the way to ZQN today. Seems the only criterion was being under 18 (and so unable to consume the bountiful quantities of Taittinger/ Pommery/ Jouet Perrier). Very good policy by QF, as I know from bitter experience that EK and others do not extend such generosity to one's offspring!
As a first time visitor to the FLounge, VERY impressed. Will definitely be trying to keep WP.
