Wow thanks Mal. How far can one go with 5,000 points? I guess we still need to take a few flights first!

Some of us have accumulated enough (or nearly enough) points for a DL domestic award over a couple of years using only promos like this one (ie no actual flights or partner activity). ;)

*HHonors number: ...

Now I know the number I used is valid!

If it were 5k HHonors points I would pursue this further ...

The link does not provide much information other than asking for promotion code.

Maybe you are not targetted for anything. All I did was went to the page, entered my membership number where requested, pressed submit and it gave me the promotion for triple points I could register for. The results do vary between people.

Trying just now, instead of gettinmg offered a promotion, it says I am already registered.

As mentioned earlier, I signed up for the 3 x 3000 point promotion after the promo page was mentioned by Serfty. I have now picked up my 2nd lot of bonus points (Westin Mel, NY, SF, LA; 4 points Washington; W Dallas; ArabellaSheraton Frankfurt). The points have posted very quickly after checking out of each 3rd hotel.

On a ponderous note, I have not stayed in many hotels up to this point - this run has been part of an xONE4 my wife and I are doing together (pre-baby thing) - but I have been disappointed somewhat by the hotels with the best reputations, whilst pleasantly surprised by all the lower ranked hotels.

The 4 main Starwood hotels in SYD and MEL would give any of these a run for their substantial money. It may, of course, be that they understand the (simple) wants and needs of Aussies better!

Did you get any offers this quarter?

No, but I haven't checked the web page again - I suspected you couldn't be signed up for 2 promos at once. I better check that out!!

I have never received any directed offers by e-mail. If I hadn't seen the initial post about the promo page, I would still be none the wiser. My profile on SPG has me down to receive promotional e-mails.

The promotions are, from what I can gather, quarterly. Hence I thought it was worth making a post as they appeared to have been updated, and people would be reminded to check the link.

4th Quarter Offers

New promo available at https://www.spgpromos.com/quarterly/index.cfm.

Choose between:
  • Double stays
  • Double points
  • Bonus starpoints (2000 per 4 stays up to 8000 if non-elite; 4000 per 4 stays up to 16000 if Gold; and 6000 per 4 stays up to 24000 if platinum)
Applies to all stays between Sept 1st and November 30th.

I have only one stay during that time (a couple of suites at Sheraton on the Park Sydney) so have registered for double points, and as I have already qualified for platinum for next year, double stays wouldn't help much.

Thanks!
If only this took effect from now. I'm 4 stays away from Gold, and staying at two Starwood properties this week! Oh well...at least I'll only need one more stay between Sept and Dec, which shouldn't be too hard given I'll be spending 5 weeks in the US.

Cheers,
- Febs.

Thanks Hawkeye. I had the same dillema as you - just stayed at Sheraton Port Douglas last week (so doesn't count towards promo) but opted for double points as there's no certainty that I'd make 5 stays before 30 November to regain my Gold.

I'm making SPG Platinum for the first time thanks to the double stay credits promo! :D

I was going to make it on nights next year during the RTW, but I just realised today that I can make it sooner if i did mattress runs when i visit SIN, KUL and SHA. I'm sure I can cope with a little packing and unpacking if I get nice big suites for my whole RTW. ;)

Currently I've got 9 stays, so I just need another 16.

The Plan:

SEPT:
16-17 LM SIN
17-18 LM KUL
18-19 Sheraton Imperial KUL
19-20 Westin KUL
20-21 Sheraton Imperial KUL
21-22 Westin KUL

DEC:
6-7 Westin SHA
7-9 LM SHA
9-10 St Regis SHA
10-11 Westin SHA

So that's (6x2) + 4 = 16. :D

Has anyone done a mattress run before? I wonder what the staff will say...:S

QF 009, I am also doing a mattress run that will give me Platinum first time by mid October. Business has me visiting Sydney and you can check in and out of the Westin and Sheraton On The Park 4 times a week for 2 weeks = 16 stays that will get me over the line. Late September/early October sees me enjoying Plat level while OS.;)
