Easyshare might be worth looking into. I have used it for non-ABN purchases, their rate is 2.5% for Amex.

You need to be a little but hacky though.

Their service is geared for sharehouse tenants and is designed to add credit cards from members of a household, and zaps their monthly rent to the real estate agents bank account automatically to save tenants fiddling around with EFT transfers every month.

Their system accepts any BSB/Account as a rent payment destination, and you can put one off payments through using the same setup too. Ping support if you find it a bit fiddly, they have always been really helpful when I've needed them.

Thanks for sharing . This looks interesting esp if it doesn’t need to be to an ABN holder like all the other services.

I've signed up to the app. It won't let me just do the transfer as of today. I've had to select Monday as the "due date" with one destination being my personal bank account for "rent" and the other BPay details to cover a bill. What will happen now? I can't see anything has been debited from Amex in my "pending" transactions yet. When will this happen?

Greetings all.
Any advice on paying VicRoads car Rego using an AmEx card?

The aim is to earn points... but VicRoads don’t accept AmEx directly.
I’ve got no experience with RewardPay, but I vaguely remember using B2Bpay once upon a time.
I’ve got an AmEx Platinum card, and four cars to pay with rego due in June... with the current double points offer using the AmEx card is worth it, I think.
thanks in advance

I believe if you get a payment notice payable via post bill pay you can use Amex

I was hoping PostBillPay would be an option (have used it for other bills via the PayPal AmEx two-step), but sadly not an option for VicRoads payments.
(can pay over the counter at a post office, but not with AmEx cards.)

One way out is to go to Westfield buy a $500 gift card for $2.95 using Ames then use same wherever eftpos is accepted .

I went to my local Westfield yesterday the concierge desk is closed. Anyone had success in buying these cards at the local Westfield?

Where possible try and use the self service terminal and Australia post as I believe the Australia post is not too keen on you using them to pay bills - well at least they used to.

I used to do this when paying "the man", then once I was on the phone to them and they said "why are you making so many $995 payments, are you having trouble paying your dues".. from that day decided to give up those cards... so much time/effort saved

There was some talk upstream in this thread about BlueChain - I've been using it recently and wanted to report that i've found it seamless and efficient to use so far - I'm not paying ATO on it, b/c as indicated upstream, I'll only receive half-points as BC does note the merchant's name on AMEX.

Managed to buy one today as they have reduced concierge hours which is why I missed them yesterday.

Shame about the reduced load value (Effectively doubles the price so I haven’t bought them for a long time) - they cited something about fraud. I suspect Westfield isn’t keen on us using the at AP which is why AP counter staff almost universally reject them on sight and some of them seem to have had the fear of god into them.

Other shopping centers offer them too. Though they’re meant to tell us they only work in the center. IME they also work outside the center. If you’re going to use them at AP try the self serve machines and not so many that you stand out and get a tap on the shoulder from staff. Some bills like Amex can only be paid at the counter so that rules them out. Considering revisiting these for the current double points offer. Interesting to see if double points post as GCs seem to be excluded. Will see what posts in next few days.
