Qantas First Class Lounge Melbourne - Operating Hours.

MH have their own lounge at MEL, though my memories of it are fairly unexciting.
Not sure if they have a separate F section as I've never flown F with them.

Would people recommend the CX lounge over MH in MEL?

(delayed response)

I have recently taken the CX red-eye to HKG (QF lounges are long closed) and I would probably go MH over CX in MEL. If only because the MH lounge feels more spacious, and the hot foods are slightly better IMHO.

Neither lounge is very special.

With the new QF9 Timings from 20th July (departing at 22:55) will the first class lounge opening hours at Melbourne change?
The Qantas webpage is currently saying open from 0445 to 1800 (yet when you read the spa hours at the very bottom it says Spa open from 0700-1100 and 1300-1900)

I'm not up on the timetable as to when the other international QF flights with first class leave Melbourne (MEL - LAX around 0900 and thats it? ) ..... any thoughts on the possible hours?

Those hours are clearly for QF11 and QF9.

Back a year or two, the Spa used to close for a couple of hours after QF9 but reopen for QF29.

Qantas web site still states opening hours 04:45 to 18:00 and Spa closes at 19:00. Any one know when the Spa closes for the new QF9 timing?

I'll be there on Sunday night and will ask what the new hours are, unless someone else beats me to it :)

Cheers, much appreciated :)
I'm there in a couple of weeks and hope I won't be out in the airport for a while due to connection times

Excuse my ignorance please but where and how do you actually book the spa? Online? Call them? Taa in advance.

If you're travelling in F then they'll call you the day before to see if you want to make a booking.
Otherwise, it's first in best dressed on the day - go to the spa as soon as you get to the lounge and if they have space during your time there they'll book you in.

Yes I read that - but I was asking specifically can you call them and pre-book - say a week or so in advance to secure a reservation rather than risking other pax jumping in line first?

I am not sure anyone has reported attempting that - I suggest you call and ask.

As posted, the "First Host" would call you the day before (ensure your contact details are correct).

Lounge contact detail is here: Lounge Location | Australia | Melbourne International | International First

Well they have attempted it now serfer dude. I just called MEL F Lounge - spoke to John - he informed me that indeed they don't take bookings in advance as I was attempting - but will certainly call day prior to flight.

BUT

He then asked my QFF number and surname - he guarantees will call me first before other pax so as to ensure first up position in Spa queue - that's a good result. Thanks again to all contributors.

We are travelling F on EK to Singapore booked as QF ticket code share.
with the discrepancy in opening hours - is the F lounge definitely open.
we arrive in MEL at 3:30pm and depart on QF 8405 at 7pm.

Having had issues with F lounge (failure) going to the big trouble of having a life experience traveling in First only to be let down by the booking person. ( Mrs Marki and Daughter Marki were greatly looking forward to nail spa) We said 14:00 clearly !!!! They confirmed and agreed to that time! Then when presenting to the QF Fail lounge next day had us booked at 15:30 just about boarding time. The person on the phone was deceptive and untruthful. The lounge staff were unable to help us as it was already booked with someone else. At the time I was their highest status customer P1. It did not help :/

What time is the last Qantas flight of the night?

Last flight of the night SYD-MEL arrives at ~11:40pm to connect to ~2:40am EK flight to KUL.

Is it worth it getting to MEL a little earlier?
