The Rendang looked good but we both went the Papparadelle

Prawns, not overcooked, and the combo of tomato and lemon butter was actually quite tasty but the dish failed on 2 points.
The pasta was chewy and served on a flat piece of crockery.
Chatted to the FA and asked how it is prepared. The sauce is heated up separately and then plated, she said time consuming and tricky.
I said, anyone ever thought to use different crockery or a bowl? Good idea was the reply.
Spotted the crew in the galley having their pasta - out of the soup bowls 🥣

Given all 3, Mango pannacotta, Ice cream and a cheese plate to finish

Great crew who had quite a few challenging passengers.
I had that menu on 16/6 on QF42 and found it, the crew and service underwhelming. Qantas seem to be cutting too many corners at the moment. I am not sure how they get away with a salad such as that and the most drab bakery offering in the skies. A few simple 'improvements' would make such a difference

Can they get Gordon Ramsey in to give their soft product some spice???

QF932 PER-BNE Monday 22 June 738 VH-VXO "Kakadu"
sched dep 0600 actual pushback 0559 takeoff 0611 (21)

Back on the early morning flight to BNE, this time though with the family for a much needed Noosa trip. Excellent service from CSM Vera.

Had the fried eggs, bacon, mushrooms and tomato for breakfast, pretty lousy presentation with everything being stacked on top of each other on a too small plate and the tomato juice making everything soggy. Tasty enough though. The usual Lois Lane sparkling accompanied, hit the spot nicely. A quiche of some description was the other breakfast option.

A mostly smooth flight where some sleep was had (after getting up at 0300) and once again into BNE a little early. Coupled with the least traffic on the Bruce Highway in recent memory (being a Monday probably helped), a very good start to the holiday!

Only bread rolls on offer and stone, rock hard cold by the time pasta was plated @Sprucegoose. - and no pepe sayer butter, just a round knob View attachment 511606

Can't blame the crew for having to dish it up - they were run off their feet.
Agree Qantas can and should do better.
I think the Pepe Saya is only ex AU? Happy to be corrected on that. It’s ok, but I say bring back the Lurpak!

I flew APW AKL yesterday on QF144, and wow, was that a shocker - look at this meal for business class on a flight over four hours. If I write to them, they will sheepishly respond that they have no other hot meal options in Apia. Total rubbish - A colleague flew out the day before on VA (who are giving up the route), and they received a hot Frittata.

Qantas, you are simply not trying with this pitiful offering. Your crew was ashamed to serve it. You need to be creative and engage with the local market to come up with a better solution - get some tips from VA, given they have managed to find a better solution than you.. Here's a clue - your crew stay at a good hotel - work with them to provide a warm/hot meal option?

If Neil is getting too long in the tooth for the job, give it to Gordon R - he'll shake things up.

I reported this a few days ago (check back in thread). Made a complaint and received 10,000 points if that interests you. Yes indeed isn't it just the most awful breakfast? Could not believe it myself...although I have been told it's well reported in this forum.
