Prawns, not overcooked, and the combo of tomato and lemon butter was actually quite tasty but the dish failed on 2 points.
The pasta was chewy and served on a flat piece of crockery.
Chatted to the FA and asked how it is prepared. The sauce is heated up separately and then plated, she said time consuming and tricky.
I said, anyone ever thought to use different crockery or a bowl? Good idea was the reply.
Spotted the crew in the galley having their pasta - out of the soup bowls

Great crew who had quite a few challenging passengers.

I had that menu on 16/6 on QF42 and found it, the crew and service underwhelming. Qantas seem to be cutting too many corners at the moment. I am not sure how they get away with a salad such as that and the most drab bakery offering in the skies. A few simple 'improvements' would make such a difference

Can they get Gordon Ramsey in to give their soft product some spice???

Only bread rolls on offer and stone, rock hard cold by the time pasta was plated @Sprucegoose. - and no pepe sayer butter, just a round knob

Can't blame the crew for having to dish it up - they were run off their feet.
Agree Qantas can and should do better.

That duck looks OK! Was it a whole leg - maybe on a small plate?
