Is this promotion targetted? None of the previous promotions mentioned on this thread or on Flyertalk have worked for me.

Assuming that for some strange reason it does work for me do the 20,000 points count towards status?

JohnK, buying points is considered as counting towards status so I dont think these will be a problem, all the targeted campaigns have worked, in the case of the above one my email was actually stay 18 nights, get 10000. Hope they keep the many point breaks hotels in Australia on the list for a while, from the 17th its going to be very easy to earn a free night, somehow I think they will dissapear before then, which would explain the two week gap in earning promos!

JohnK, I'm surprised that none have been working for you.

PC members can get the promotion offers via their monthly eStatements. Assuming you get the HTML version, the offer sits above the PC card at the top of the email. For example, mine for September gave me a small red line which said "Get going with triple points". I click on it and the embedded link takes me to the promo registration page with my details and the promo number pre-completed.

Special offers (like the Stay x, get 10K points) come from an email address of "Priority Club News". The one I got yesterday was the Stay 5, get 10K offer with the same promo registration page embedded link. I signed up straight away thinking it is the lowest they have - but then found that a Stay 4 offer was available (on the FT Forum). As I said yesterday, I then signed up 4 other members to that lower hurdle promo - each one of them was accepted.

Every quarter, I have been given a different promo (seems to be depending on my past patronage - if it was higher than 5 stays I've got a Stay 8 ot Stay 10; if it was lower I've received Stay 5).

I would have thought that you would be able to sign up for one of the 7 options (they are Stay 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15 or 18). Obviously the lower the bettter chance you have of achieving it. The promo codes are readily available. HAve you tried them all?? (starting from the Stay 4 code of 2222?)

All points count towards re-qual - earned, bonus, purchased. Therefore easy to achieve Gold and moderately easy to qualify for Plat. I achieved Plat with 12 nights the first year and 10 nights this year. I purchased points last year, I won't need to this year (better use of promo's, but lower room rate and higher spend whilst there).

I've got a Priority Privilege Cert that expires 30 Sept to giveaway, if anyone's interested.

See this thread on Flyertalk. PM me here or there if you're interested.

While that has generally been the case for me, I have had some bizarrely high hurdles (stay 15 nights and the line)

Unfortunately that it how it goes. I have never received PC points for opt-in to email, new member bonus or even the book online bonus. I have registered for these promotions on a number of occassions and each registration has been successful according to the PC website and the email I received.

The only promotion that worked was the 2,000 points for every second stay but if I remember correctly I was targetted for that promotion. I have been targetted for the triple/quadruple points and have registered for that one but I have also tried registering for the stay 4 get 10,000 points and will actually have 4 stays so would be interested to see how that one goes.

JohnK, I can't think of a good reasons as to how they aren't working. (particularly the first ones you mentioned).

I know that the Best Buy promo kills some of the other promo's if one signs up for them together - thankfully, we aren't US residents so we can't sign up for it.

Hope the Q4 promo's work for you. I'm in a similar position - I have a stay in PER that gets my Q3 Stay 5 Get 10K over the line. Then have 2 nights at Royal Pines to get another 2K bonus and plent of points.

Then the fun starts with Q4 - plenty of trips to SYD (to the CP) and MEL (to the HI on Flinders) before end December.

I hope so too. There is a chance I can get Platinum depending on whether the stay 4 get 10,000 plus the 10,000 book online bonus promotion works. I don't stay at PC properties as often as others on this site but Platinum is still a nice status to have for at least another 12 months.

JohnK,

If it doesn't work and you sort out your HH Gold status then I'd recommend a simple letter to Priority Club asking for a status match. It worked for me :!: If you do this I'd recommend waiting until toward the new year as I did it in about May and they gave me Platinum until 31 December. As posted elsewhere here it isn't hard to keep though.

I now have HH Gold status. If things do not work out with PC Platinum through the current promotion then I will certainly give your status match idea a try.

If you manage to keep in touch with all the PC promotions then yes PC Platinum would not be hard to keep.

JohnK,
I know it was covered earlier, just don't forget the 20000 points you can buy ($US200) count toward the 60000 required :!:

I managed to snag HI Gold Coast for $4.85 for one night. Hope I can get Priority Club Points on it somehow. Just got to figure out how to get the PC reservation number. NB, I'm tempted to book 02 Oct, which is available there now, but I can't really justify driving down & back in one night, if it's not on the weekend. :(

I expect you will find its not a PC Qualifying Rate, so no points or stays counted.

Ahh yes. Section 12 of the T&Cs.

Points are not issued for stays at the following reduced room rates (“Non-Qualifying Room Rates”; “Non-Qualifying Stay”): ..., most rates booked through most third party web sites, ...

indeed that is where your wishes will end. But that does not negate the excellent value for the stay  .

I've got a stay there in Jan 08, making use of a 5k point break. Shame I didn't have enough PC points to extend over the new year and book somewhere else... At least it's the closest PC hotel to Katoomba, etc.

Anything else to say about Rooty Hill? At least parking is free, right?

NB, I got Holiday Inn Surfers to add my PC number. It shows up on priorityclub.com, with this Call for Details icon:

Doubt I'll get any points, but you never know.

Yep, parking is free....outdoors, tho! Don't eat the buffet at Rooty Hill RSL club:shock: If you like your room well lit, then this hotel is not for you;)

If I purchase Gold elite status, other than the 10% bonus on base points, does it get me closer to Platinum Elite status? ie would I require only a further 40,000 points this year to make Platinum?

You need either 60,000 points or 50 nights for Platinum.

You can purchase up to 20k points for Gold. These count towards the 60k needed for Platinum.

I don't think if you buy gold, that you get any points which count towards platinum.

You may find that you can get a status match on Priority Club, till Jan 08 if you have status with some other hotel chain... See the status match thread on flyertalk.
