My favourite one right now is Free Sleep Sounds. It covers up the hotel door bangers and street noises coming up from the canyons of NYC. It has rain, waves, streams as a very pleasant white noise.

Anyone have a good weather app that's not in Fahrenheit? Or, if it is, is changeable to C.

Shipmate with all excursions loaded into it. Plus offline deckmaps.

Thanks Pushka - the Shipmate is great and I love all the port data. I'm just about to start the loading of excursions. The offline deckmaps - what is that please? (I cant find it in the Apps store)

Its in the shipmate app. You used to have to download them to see them when offline.

Hi ozbeachbabe,

try the following if you have an iPhone:

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

U r welcome (that's app speak, I think). :D The app looks good though doesn't it, useful I mean.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, or if it's in line with some of the other apps already noted.
I've used Triposo quite a bit when travelling through Europe. Has heaps of info on cities, sights, places to eat, accommodation, and good maps.
You can download specific cities or whatever nation you plan to visit. Helps heaps with pre-planning I found.

Google now launcher. I love the cards that google now allows you to set up.

If you have the google calendar also installed it will then automaatically add flights and a lot of hotel reservations to your calendar - airbnb doesn't get picked up for some reason.

Google wil then have your flight that's coming up in a day or two as a card entry and let you know of any delays.

You can also search for a particular flight number and this will tend to be monitored by google for you too. could be handy if you're going to meet someone arriving.

It does worry me that google seems to know more about my life than sometimes I do, but the now functionality makes life so much easier.

Great application, thanks! But a bit limited for the more adventurous traveller. My last 2 countries - Georgia and Azerbaijan, not on the countries list, nor one of my intended this year - Turkmenistan (although the other 'stans are there) :) . Also for Canada, it only speaks English. The Quebeckers won't like that!

Edit: Interestingly, those countries are mentioned as included, on the web site ...

Maybe if you give them some feedback they could include those countries + French Canadian before you next depart.
