Yes I wondered about the need for it too. After all they have my FF number via the app so could easily look it up themselves. I did wonder if they want to check that the complaint was “genuine” and recent.I love that they need a flight booking reference to check whether or not they have standing orders to remove paper towels from the lounges...
Plenty of hand towels(towel & mat in plastic bag also) in the MEL J & F shower rooms Wed & ThursdayJust in MEL Business Lounge, and once again, no paper towels. I’m actually quite sick of this now. So I sent the following feedback via app. Let’s see what they say this time.
“Once again, there are no paper towels in the Ladies Room at Business Lounge in MEL.
It seems like these are being deliberately removed/withheld as it has now happened in CBR,SYD and MEL.
Hand dryers are not a pleasant experience. They have many annoying aspects such as:
Noisy
Circulate germs
The ones in MEL are inappropriately close to each other meaning only one person can use at a time - wastes time.
Paper towels have many other uses. For example, blotting my lippy, cleaning up a messy child, washing my face, wiping my mouth after cleaning my teeth, etc.
at least MEL had 1 single packet of tissues. Which most people seem to be using to dry their hands. I am clearly not the only one unhappy with the removal of paper towels.
This is NOT a premium lounge experience. It’s cheap and nasty.
Bring back paper towels please!”
And here are the photos I attached. Not a paper towel in sight. And lots of tissues in the rubbish bin.

Plus you would be shoulder to shoulder, all but hand to hand if 2 people tried to use these hand dryers.

Yes, shower rooms still have 'em (used one at MEL domestic Business lounge last week).Plenty of hand towels in the MEL J & F shower rooms Wed & Thursday![]()
In ADL they even have a hand dryer in the shower room.Yes, shower rooms still have 'em (used one at MEL domestic Business lounge last week).
that’s not a hand dryerIn ADL they even have a hand dryer in the shower room.
Got a classic QF fob off response to my feedback yesterday. At least so far no one has blamed sustainability for the demise of the hand towels.

This is my theory. If consumption of actual towels suddenly rises dramatically (=more cost, less “sustainability”), hand towels might have a chance of coming backPlenty of hand towels(towel & mat in plastic bag also) in the MEL J & F shower rooms Wed & Thursday![]()
So you think they might throw in the towel? This is my theory. If consumption of actual towels suddenly rises dramatically (=more cost, less “sustainability”), hand towels might have a chance of coming back
Or they might remove shower towels. Hard to know
Wait for a paper disposable towel … I’m sure there is something out there. This is my theory. If consumption of actual towels suddenly rises dramatically (=more cost, less “sustainability”), hand towels might have a chance of coming back

I did get some insight several years back into how Qantas managed customer feedback. Assuming things haven’t changed much, then I don’t believe it’s a bot response so much as a (largely) pre-filled response template that can be modified (to a degree) by the Qantas customer service rep.The second parain the response to your first feedback strongly suggest that it’s a bot response. Repeat the complaint so it sounds as if they’ve read it.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Don’t. Give. Them. Ideas.Wait for a paper disposable towel … I’m sure there is something out there.
Disposable towels already exist- we use them at workWait for a paper disposable towel … I’m sure there is something out there.
I can confirm that I was not offloaded!Yes I wondered about the need for it too. After all they have my FF number via the app so could easily look it up themselves. I did wonder if they want to check that the complaint was “genuine” and recent.![]()
