Read in 'The Age' yesterday (or may be the day before) that Oz Jet have been delayed in starting-up operations. Not sure when they are going to start, but seems like they shouldn't be too much longer and may give QF & VB a run for their money. According to the Oz Jet web site:>>>
Think I saw an Oz Jet plane at the maintainence area of MEL the other day. Must be getting ready for commercial flights now?? Only trouble is their aircraft are 30 year old Boeing 737s! The service sounds very promising and but not so sure when you consider the age of their planes!
OzJet intends to start with three Boeing 737s and to expand its fleet to up to 12 aircraft and services to Adelaide, Canberra and Brisbane by mid-2006.
All OzJet planes will have 60 business-class seats exclusively (configured two-by-two either side of the aisle) and ticket prices will be based on traditional fully-flexible economy fares.
OzJet passengers will be allowed three items of carry-on luggage, averting waits at carousels for many.
Aiming to return great customer service to the skies in the Australian domestic aviation market, OzJet travellers will be served hot meals on fine china.
