Ongoing Issues with Missing Flybuys Points

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share my recent experience with Flybuys, as I’m starting to lose confidence in the program.

This is now the second time in a single week that I’ve had to chase missing points:
  • First, I had to chase up the 700 bonus points from the Coles Australian beef eye fillet offer.
  • Now, I’m still waiting for the 8x points per litre fuel offer from my Shell purchase on 06/08/2025 (activated in the Flybuys app and scanned at the counter).
It’s frustrating and honestly disheartening to have to monitor every single transaction and chase missing points. This undermines trust in the Flybuys program, which should work smoothly without members having to double-check everything.

Has anyone else been having similar problems?

Flybuys has now twice confirmed that the missing points were credited and even stated the date they were credited, yet they still haven’t appeared in my account. This reflects very poor customer service and makes the program untrustworthy.
Has anyone else experienced the same issue or able to offer advice?

Can’t say we watch the account like a hawk but we’ve not noticed any major anomalies.

I never really paid much attention before, unless there were a lot of bonus points or fuel offers involved. But after repeatedly chasing up missing points, I’ve started monitoring my account closely. At this stage, I’ve lost confidence in the Flybuys program.

I get my monthly spend as VA SCs correctly. Yes, the timing can vary as per another thread but I wouldn’t leap to “no confidence” at this stage.

Any bonus promos, as per OPs post need to be checked carefully for qualifying spend amount and period. I’ve been caught out before…

I have learned the hard way to always take screenshots and otherwise document any Flybuys promotion I am in the process of involving myself with.

Last time was 3K Points that did not credit. I waited the six week as per the general terms before using the online form, uploading said documentation.

The points credited a few days later with no other feedback.

That’s exactly what I do now, I take screenshots of every Flybuys promotion I activate. It’s disappointing that the program has become so unreliable that members are forced to double-check whether the points they are rightfully owed have actually been credited.

Reddy Express has been very hit and miss for the 8x points offers since they moved to a new POS system months ago. Sometimes the points appear the next day, if not - then usually a chase up will be necessary.

I've also noticed recently, that all my digital fuel dockets have disappeared from my Flybuys account, and I’m no longer receiving new ones even when I spend $30 or more at Coles. It’s becoming very annoying and time-consuming to constantly have to chase after missing fuel dockets and points. This is very disappointing and really undermines trust in the Flybuys program.

I am also lately experiencing ongoing problems with chasing up missing Flybuys points that originated at Ready Express (formerly Coles Express). To have to chase two or three times over a period of eight weeks is unacceptable. Points eventually get credited as a manual adjustment (which is very different to when they are automatically recognised against a qualifying transaction) and it is this fact that makes me lose trust in the Flybuys program. It effectively means that had I not paid attention to my account and insisted with numerous follow ups (which is the time I will never get back), I would have missed out on many points I am entitled to. If this is down to systems, fix them! If this is down to faulty processes, fix them! If this is down to careless people, fix them! But don't inconvenience and short-change the customers. If Ready Express continue to do so, there are other services out there that are doing a much better job and waiting patiently to win over business. I have tested BP Rewards/ Qantas partnership over many transaction during this past year and can honestly not fault them on any aspect of their proposition. As a result, I have stopped shopping at Coles, and will likely affiliate myself with Qantas partners going forward. This will of course eventually lead to me also moving my travel to Qantas. There are so many stakeholders that are suffering Ready Express' inadequacy - Coles, Flybuys, Virgin, etc. All these should be applying pressure on Ready Express to fix its POS, or throw them out of the Flybuys program, then replace them with another fuel retailer - maybe they are already working in that direction with 7-Eleven, but regretfully, their systems and processes are even worse (have tried them and canned them already).
