Oneworld separate ticket interline changes

You put down 2 flight numbers for LAX-SYD. Which is it on your ticket? I know both are correct. Also who issues the LAX-SYD-BNE ticket?

LHR-LAX is AA marketed, LAX-SYD-BNE is QF marketed: so it's QF310 on itinerary (but boarding passes may have both the operating airline flight number and marketing...eg "AA73, sold as QF310")

She did go and checked with her supervisor so the reply seemed legit to me.
i was worried about this. I have an award ticket for Miss FM for Mel-lax next year and was going to book a revenue AA lax-yvr. It seemed to me quite hazardous to rely on the policy detailed on here of award + revenue being checked through. I have decided rather than rely on it and stress about them making connections to abandon one world and just book Air Canada for them with a long connection.

Report it to QF - the CSA was wrong and in contravention of policy. The supervisor should also be sent away to "re-education".

I find it ridiculous that QF will interline to EK but not oneworld. If ever there was an indication of their priorities . . .

It would've been an alliance policy change and QF can't do anything about it unless they negotiate individual agreements with other alliance airlines.

If the classic award was booked over the phone with QF, then you most likely can through-check to SIN-CMB-MLE. PM me your QF record locator and I can double check.

I booked online. Why is there a difference between phone and online award bookings?

It's to do with the way QF have their reservations setup. That said just about every other airline out there is setup the same or in a similar way.

Think it's pretty clear that QF is closer to EK compared to CX

Tags will only be LHR-LAX. Retrieve and recheck bags at LAX to get tags to BNE

and make sure you allow 30 minutes for bags to get to LAX carousel, a 10 minute walk to TBIT, then 30 minutes to recheck bag at airline, then up to 60 minute wait to get through security!

MH just checked me through KUL-xSIN-SYD on separate tickets and PNRs. I'd heard checking the luggage through was a good chance, but didn't expect I'd also get my Sydney BP issued by MH in KUL

Cheers,
Matt.

If I book SYD-SIN in J as a WP, but my final destination is CMB and MLE - If I book UL SIN-CMB-MLE is there anyway I can get QF to check me all the way through? I can't buy the whole ticket on the QF website anyway (and I have actually booked SYD-SIN as a Classic Award).
No need to worry. Just use transfer desk in SIN to issue onward boarding passes and transfer luggage.

I was of the understanding that some oneworld airlines were still interlining on separate tickets. Regardless, I'm not sure what individual negotiation would be required. It would be Qantas doing the through checking.

Not so much about these interline rules, but just had some 'fun' with baggage transfers/checking at LHR.

As part of my current RTW, I had OSL-xLHR-xDXB-xLHR-ICN.
2 nights in OSL, 22 hours (overnight) in LHR, then a QF10/QF1 turn through DXB then connecting onto ICN on BA. (my original plan for this trip was to have a day in London, get QF2 to DXB, have a day in Dubai, then get QF1 back to LHR to connect to BA17. QF wouldn't open the needed D space on QF2 - even though J and C were wide open - the waitlist didn't clear after 3 days and I ended up changing the plan)

MMB said different things depending on which airline I looked at, with some saying stopover in DXB, others saying stopover in LHR, others saying connecting at one or both.
Checking in with BA at OSL, they wanted to tag bags to DXB. I said to LHR. They checked me through to both QF flights and bags to LHR.
Arriving at QF check in at LHR, they saw that I had already been checked through for 2 of the 3 flights (to ICN). They tried to add the bags. While they had no issues checking me through to ICN, the system refused to accept the bags. At one point half the check in staff and the station manager were poking at it.
They worked out the issue was coming back through LHR and I had to put the bags into storage. The other option was checking bags to DXB, then having 3 hours to clear customs, collect bags, recheck and back to the flight.
I had wanted to avoid that because the UK Border Force agent I dealt with this time last year had issues with me wanting to enter the UK for 6 hours to collect bags from storage, get the train between T3-T5 and recheck with BA and sent me to secondary (thankfully I didn't have that issue again yesterday).

The airlines still have their normal interline agreements and have had for quite some time, these agreements are what allow an airline to sell seats, transfer pax and bags, etc to the other airline, thus you get QF selling single ticket/PNR routing such as ADL-xSYD-YVR on QF/AC with the bags etc transferred to AC at SYD. The oneworld policy was additional to the normal interline agreements.
The change to the OW policy basically reverted to the 'normal' interline rules with OW members still able to offer the higher service should they wish. Thus we get JL transferring across PNRs according to the old policy, while QF and AA will transfer between different PNRs provided one is an award, CX/KA only transferring across PNRs to themselves and QR not transferring across PNRs at all, even to itself (BA was also doing that for the first few weeks of the change).

while QF and AA will transfer between different PNRs provided one is an award,.
I can't keep track of who is doing what :(. So is this a definite? I.e I have Miss FM flying LAS-LAX on an AA revenue ticket and then LAX--MEL on a QF award. So she should be able to check in bags in LAS? Not a huge problem as she has plenty of time to collect bags in LAX and checkin again, but just makes it a bit easier....
