simongr, a pity you'll miss out on ExPlat...as IainF and Alan in CBR from this forum have already found out, it's well worth having.

Still, you have all of next year with a clear mandate for crediting everything to AA....

Thanks LW. It is a shame to miss out on the eVIPs but that's life. I can survive without F lounge access next year - SYD F lounge isnt much cop and I dont get time to spend much time at other locations. I should be flying next year with tgtwwm annd he should have WP March next year - so he can get me into the F lounge ;)

I have to think that if I hadnt switched to AA then mrssimongr would never have been able to think about a J rtw trip with me next year :)

There's always next year !!

Then again, that is what the Collingwood supporters have been saying for years :p .

At this stage next year is a shoe in :D Later in the year though - probably early October.

Or based on the call I just had maybe May next year  I can see another project coming my way

I assume you talking about you making EXP. There is no such "shoe in" for Collingwood winning a flag any time this century  .

Just a quick one. I am now travelling as planned on CX in F for the upcoming trip. i havent yet requested a seat (being F I think I can live them all :D :D) but I am just wondering if it is worth me doing so and if so who I call to request the seat? I am not sure that they even have my FF number. is it just a case of whitepages.com.au - Search for an Australian Business, Government or Person and looking for CX? Or can I just do that at the airport on Saturday for all flights?

Any F seat is a good seat. I have called Cathay Pacific on 131747 to change seat allocations recently. You can even call QF as long as your booking hasn't been locked by the travel agent.

Thanks JohnK - though checking seatguru they aren't glowing about one F seat on the Cathay A333 ;)

Mind you compared to a whY seat....

I like row 1 on CX. Row 2 is also good on the 744 since they only have 2A and 2K (no EF as with Qantas). Just look up Cathay Pacific in the white pages and phone the reservations number. They have always been helpful for me.

Our of interest is there any where that lists the circle pacific fares in the same way that I can get the DONE4 fares? Just going through my mind for travel next year how I can be a little more tricky ;) Just thinking of flying SYD-LAX-HKG-PVG-HKG-SYD - seeing if it is the same price as a SYD-PVG-SYD fare...

You can get them from ExpertFlyer now. Just use the same origin and destination ports in a Fare Information search. That will return ATW and Circle fares.

Just looking one of them up now - kind of hard without knowing the booking class. I think this is a Circle pacific fare:

Assuming that is a circle pacific trip and I can go via LAX? Its interesting - that is cheaper than the J seat SYD-HKG... Ithink its is anyway cheaper than a fare I was quoted a qhile a ago. Might have been a flight to SHA (Shanghai)

no this is not a OneWorld Circle Pacific fare. This is a generic "circle" fare which just means it allows multiple stopovers and has some restrictions on routing. This is a business class excursion fare and for that price is going to be Asia destinations only.

Even so - that might be interesting to experiment with for my asia trips next year - try and squeak a few more miles out of the trips :D

Hmm - just googled and this time I got a hit :D I am guessing the fare basis to look out for is DCIR as per this random link which is fares originating out of Canada. Interesting to have an indicative price.

The Circle Pacific fares are xCIRC22/26/29SA where x is ( as for ONEs and GLOBs A,D or L) . Interstingly, when using SYD-SYD , it doesn't seem to be returning them

Dave

I thought it seemed to be harder than it needed to be. I couldnt see anything in the SYD-SYD option that looked like a cricle pacific fare. Nothing in the HKG-HKG either...

I have noticed this behavior where the xCIRnn rules are not returned; only the words "no entries".

It does return them for BNE-BNE - or at least it did a few days ago when I last looked for it.

Just picking a date in feb, BNE-BNE returned no CIRC fares just now

Perhaps they feel SYDneysiders already go around in circles enough? :p
