Not receiving Silver Pack when you go to Gold too quickly

I didn't receive the whole pack..after a few phone calls and a heads up to Red Roo on this forum, they ended up sending only one Qantas Club pass without any Q Bag Tags! So in your case, it should work out ok, just might need to do some chasing up...

I haven't booked the SC run yet, so I might try to work it so there is as much gap as possible, but you got the lounge pass and thats all I really need from it and I will have a couple months to try to get it so it should work out. Thanks for the update. :)

This really irks me - it takes someone a whopping 400 SCs to go from silver to gold yet QF decide to save some cash and resources and simply send out the gold pack if someone does this too quickly thus meaning the QFF member misses out on two Q tags, a QC invite and their silver member card.

I don't know how much the Silver card would be worth, nothing I guess? But the Q tags have a value set by QF, $50 each was what they were selling them for last I looked, and the lounge pass, well they were selling some of them recently too... so they're definitely saving cash, and it'd be up to the individual to argue the point.

I am in the same boat. I hit silver 24th November 2012, then gold on 4th December. I didn't receive the silver pack, only the gold. I too was keen on the silver pack for the lounge pass (and coasters) to give to a mate. I hadn't thought of calling them. I wonder whether it'd be too late now seeing as I received the gold pack more than a month ago?

Hi guys, was just wondering whether anyone else has experienced this? I recently went on a status run and spent a week as Silver, before hitting Gold. I got my Gold pack sent in the mail last week, but haven't received the Silver pack. I called up and they said because I went to Gold from Silver so quickly the system skipped Silver and so didn't send out the Lounge Pass, Card and Q Bag Tags.

I'm wondering whether there is any way for them to send out the Silver pack? I was hoping to use the Lounge pass later this year as I'm travelling with more people than Gold can allow into the lounge...

Thanks :)

I got my Silver pack and 2 days later my gold pack :)
It might be due to achieving silver in Feb and gold in March.. I am not sure.
All points posted rather quickly... there was only 2 days between silver and gold.
I am happy :)

In my experience it takes about 10 business days. I believe you can pay a $30 AUD fee and have the card couried to you within 72 hours (am prepared to be corrected on this).

Mine were about 10 days from when the status updated on my account...
My partners silver arrived while we were overseas so I can't say for sure but he got his gold pack the day i got my silver pack and our status for our new respective tiers were updated on the same day so it was decently quick... especially when others reported 6 week wait etc.

Went from NB to Silver to Gold over three days and once the flights posted, I only got a Gold Pack in the mail. Calling the FF line was pointless but a quick message to Qantas via their facebook page and the Silver kit was on it way.

a set of 2 Q tags generally sells for around $50 on ebay (gold) - platinum seems to get a fraction more. Lounge passes also in the region of $45-50 depending on how much time they have left (one expiring end of march though was still at 99c yesterday with a couple hours to go!)

Happy I found this thread - I was going from NB to Silver to Gold within a 24hr period. Now I will hold off on the final 30 SC until as close to the end of June as I can - I would rather have it all done within the one JASA and a little tacked on side trip but I really want the bag tags and the lounge pass to give to my mum. Holding off will save me 8000 QFF but will cost me a return ticket somewhere while on Double SC offer.

I didn't realise that you got bag tags at every level. we now have 2x sets of each colour (Silver, Gold, Platinum). I thought it was getting silver got you bag tags then each other level just came with the other benefits. I have given a couple away to my parents and my aunt.
I wouldn't hold off as the extra points on flights is handy (if your flying beyond the 500 mile mark).
We are still deciding what to do with our spare lounge entries and I am sure there are many others in the same boat.

There was a competition on here a week ago, that seemed to be a fun and helpful way of giving some to other AFF flyers. You could consider something like that.

I have a cousin whos partner is having a baby in Japan so I'm debating giving it to him but they are coming to oz and going back again within the year and we have aunts who go to Bali but we have to check which airlines they are flying first.
So far people have booked Cathay and Emirates but I think my cousin will fly Jetstar to get to japan.
Once we know what the family is doing we will probably do something like that if they can't use them.

Went from NB to PS, then SG a week later. I just got my Silver pack! I suppose my Gold pack will be coming soon :)

Interesting to note, in the letter they say "We recently announced enhancements to our program and the Silver Status bonus has increased from 25% to 50% when you fly Qantas"

There is currently a $26 bid on Ebay for a pass valid until October 2013.

Not condoning this - previous post was tongue in cheek.

good validity lounge pass around $50. RFID tags (gold and above) around $50.

use to offset purchase of USDM/Avianca lifemiles :)
