Just a note to the Admin that the new changes and updates to the Forums look great!

Nice work.

PS: Probably explains why I couldn't log-in earlier today too :)

Glad you like it. See if you can notice the other new things that we will be adding over the next hours. Lots of things that will enhance the site specifically for the search engines, but also for users.

Congratulatons on the new design. However, the time is set to GMT which I guess we will just have to adapt to, but maybe as it is an Australian forum perhaps this could be changed.

The default TZ probably needs to be changed, but you can change YOUR timezone in User CP -> Edit Options.

I will update all members to the Aussy time zone, then people can change to their personal time zone. The old time zones were part of the forum import. New users default to Aussy time zones.

Macca44 - click on User CP to access your control panel. You can set the timezone in there as well as other stuff.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

t2dman, I have emailed admin with a note about a link to a sub-Forim that goes nowhere...

As this is the same software that Flyertalk uses, it shouldn't be very difficult for those dual members to optimise their viewing pleasure. Been great so far today to use....and this'll make it 1,800 posts for me

I was amazed how quick the "outage" was for the switch-over, especially considering it needed to include an import from the old system. Its all gone pretty well from my end-user perspective. Looking forward to seeing the tweaking improvements.

Perhaps I spoke up a little early :p. Just experiended a few minutes of the dreaded 404 error. But back again now (obviously).

Just viewing some of the excellent options (like seeing who's on-line and what thread they're looking at) and had to laugh when I read:

Yahoo! Slurp Spider Viewing Index

Google AdSense Spider Viewing Thread

Now they are two Guests that I's greet with trepidation....

Yes, you have to watch out for those software robots scouring the web. ;)

Yeah, the new site layout looks good.

Much more modern and visually appealing :)

Congrats.

Congratulations on the new format. It took me about a minute to get used to it so it can't be tooooo hard to work out :!: ;)

Unfortunatly I have found several large drawbacks for me.

I have taken to us Firefox with tabbed browsing regularly opening 5-6 AFF tabs at once, reading some while others load. But now when using the super duper WYSIWYG editor or opening more than 2 - 3 tabs my 550Mhz Home PC has apoplexy. :(

Those flash ads on the top are chewing up my rescources as well; I have to "right click, Q, L" them every time.

Also my keyboard has been usuped; e.g. to get a ½ symbol I used to simply type ALT+0189, if I do that in AFF now the browser goes nut's!

To top it all off, the pages are taking about twice as long to load.

I've noticed that this version is signing me up to receive email updates on any thread I post to. Might have to turn that off...

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm glad you (generally) like the new design. There is actually a lot more behind the scenes, which will make for some exciting new functionality. So watch this space!!!

BTW: serfty, I have noted your point and will look into it tomorrow.

I noticed this just started. The default setting in user options seemed to change to "Instant Email Notification". Go to options (User CP, then Edit Options) and set the Default Thread Subscription Mode to your desired setting.

Hey there is always a party pooper around and it as well be me again. That way you don't have to get used to hating a new person but someone you are familiar with already.

I do not like it. Too coughbersome. I hope it does not take too long for me to get used to it as this is very frustrating. One of the reasons I did not frequent FlyerTalk too often.

Pages are too slow in loading and there are too many ads in between posts. Yes I know ads are necessary but I want to follow the thread not the ad.

The old version used to be so easy to display on one screen all posts since my last visit and if I replied it would move to top of list, now as soon as I reply to a post it is removed from the new post list.

Maybe I am wrong but when editing a post the emoticons seem to disappear.

When using the quote button for a post that already includes previous quotes only the latest text is carried to replied post and not the quoted text. Sometimes previously quoted text is relevant to the reply.

The old version had 25 replies to a page where as now there are only 10.
