Ok still at 27 kilos I am guessing, most likely, there would have been some charge?
Friends,
Many thanks for listening to my story but I have to leave you for now. Wish me luck.
Will keep you updated
Kind regards
Al
You've done this to death Al.........................you may need more than luck.
Who are you flying with today? Thanks mannej; I am waiting to board - in holiday mood - will think about it when I get back - For now, I just have to cope with 3 hrs transit in Singapore![]()
I have never been anywhere near check in at T-40mins for an international flight...but maybe that's just me.

Well at least Al returned after his first post complaining about an airline. I reckon this would have to be the most posts by a new poster on their first thread. Hope he continues to post.
Would love to see the video of the exchange.
If I remember correctly, on Singapore Airlines there is an unpublished tolerance, before excess baggage charges kick in. So the 27 kilos may indeed be correct.
From reading this thread, it sounds like there has been some serious mis-communication on one or both sides of the check in counter.
And also it sounds very much like there's an elephant in the room.

Dear Sir / Madam
Would you please be kind enough to send me a confirmation receipt of my email, which I sent to you earlier today, and is appended below.
The travel agent has advised that they are holding the ticket open, until a response is received from yourselves, which is expected as a matter of urgency.
Could you please advise me on how to reserve my rights on the ticket, until this matter can be resolved, and I receive the requested refund?
Thanks once again and kind regards

Dear Sir / Madam
I was supposed to be travelling this morning on Flight number SQ 224 from Perth, Australia, on a long journey that...
I suggest you wait more than 4 hours for a response to an email. Expect a response in closer to 4 weeks. You, or your travel agent, will need to call them if you are expecting anything to happen in a hurry.
