My Story with Singapore Airlines

Unless of course it was precipitated by some fairly unacceptable (and possibly conveniently omitted) behavior on the part of the OP. People rarely go off their nut without provocation. I find it hard to believe that the OP was entirely mild mannered and compliant in this situation. I've also yet to observe someone telling their side of a story withoutsomee creative embellishment along the way.

Noted. It's very hard to tell, I agree, whether the OP has chosen to omit some important details and obviously this entire episode has been blown out of proportion. But while it's true people don't go 'off their nut' without provocation, if you work in customer service, representing a premium airline like SIA, you shouldn't go off your nut at all! In a situation where a passenger (i.e. the OP) is aggravated, it's never a good look to lose your cool as well.

LOL.
I had to read this one until the end.

Anyone else think that the OP arrived way to late to the airport, were told they needed to pay for excess baggage, had a hissy fit, spent the next 20 minutes or so mucking around with luggage and holding everyone up, then decided to have a go at check in staff and in the meantime the flight closed?

I must admit, while check in staff are not always bundles of smiles and joy (we all acknowledge they have a very trying job at times) I have witnessed far more altercations in airports caused by the attitude of the pax than the attitude of the staff. So in this situation, especially given the 'selective' style in which the story is told, I think it is much more likely it was the pax that was aggressive, at least in the first instance.

Just waiting for the next installment.......I will never fly etihad\emirates\any airline ever again....

I think I will refer this to my TV show director/producer friend as he needs a funny show to get his career to take off.

...and I will NEVER fly Singapore Airlines again, and my family is not the only one... :)

LONG LIVE Emirates ...and Etihad Airlines is also coming - Some real competition will sort such matters out; and those little men who think that they can abuse tired and stressed passengers, with impunity, or think that this is acceptable, may think again.

Why did you need to post this link again, after posting it a week ago on the 23rd of August?

Let it go mate, if the only backup you can find is a post from 2008 it's not like there is a major groundswell of opinion against SQ ..

I am guessing that SQ may have come back refusing any sort of compensation or refund.

To me this thread shows how the airline world is so subjective. In this day and age of social media and interaction, it is easier to spread one's disatisifaction, no matter how right or wrong it may be.

The usual rant.....there is luggage allowance limits and you didn't observe them, what are you expecting?
'Anxiety', 'excess luggage', and cancelling a long overseas trip because of one perceived rude interaction over 1.5kgs and cc'ing the ACCC? You're kidding me. The whole rant says more about the pax than about SQ. It's all so terribly third world, though these sorts of pax usually travel on other low-rent airlines, not SQ.

Hahaha; in your wildest dreams...

And yes; again and again and again; because at the end I will NEVER fly Singapore Airlines, and the fact is that I am not the only one...

LONG LIVE Emirates ...Unlike the cowbys, they will not dump you in an airport for 12 hrs transit without accommodation or decent meal, or treat you with disrespect and then who cares... and after all we get the red neck bash: Dare you complain!

The 2008 story probably also concerns non-SQ employees.

I've skimmed through, but was there a resolution to the problem mentioned, what was SQ's official response?
