Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

Did a dummy booking on MH in J and it seems that the one-way YQ is around ~$330 (for SYD-KUL-LHR) then add about $80 in additional taxes. What I can't quite comprehend is why I can't book F from SYD (and thus the search engine only lets me book J, but ITA shows there is at least availability on MH F from KUL-LHR).

F to/fro SYD ceases from March 2013 or thereabouts.
That's when the 747 is withdrawn.
And the A380 is not coming to SYD.
For now anyway.
MH is pretty fluid.

Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

Hopefully their new A330 J is not too bad. If its comparable to their 772 or 747 J I will be happy.

Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

Maybe not. But for Business or First, probably more so...

An AAdvantage award SYD-DXB-LHR on QF in First is 80k + $83.60 USD.
A Malaysia Airlines Enrich award SYD-KUL-LHR in First is 63.95k + ??? in First oneway. e.g. 01Mar2013. Taxes on the paid fare are circa 400 AUD.

The QANTAS SYD-DXB-LHR FASA is 192k + $648.50. Earns 360 SCs.

QF F Class on A380 all the way for teh 80k points via AA as you quote sounds the way to go

After March MH drop the F Service from SYD, so the best you could do is the newer A333 SYD/KUL and then A380 from there to LHR in F

Would need to book separate sectors as Enrich dont allow mixed booking classes in T&C's

By The way has anyone flown MH A380 in F yet?

Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

Problem with qf a380 F is the availability!

Agreed. Availability is tough. How many QF points for F one way as a WP u could always request a classic seat
I gather no WP requests if u want to use AA points

Can I book a MH award flight using my points for a 3rd party ( not flying with them)?

Yes you can.

But changing the ticket dates can be a huge hassle as I believe it cannot be done online or through the phone and you have to front up to their office.

i have changed (on Phone) tickets for departure date changes for me and my 2 girls with no problems, just need to pay the admin fee which as about $30. very reasonable

I did A330 J last month, KUL-MEL< and it is a standard angled lie flat product, comparable to, for those familiar with QF, Skybed Mk I. If people are not happy with this product on a 7hr flight for 20,000 pts plus taxes (ie less than what most airlines charge for economy) I suggest they give up on frequent flyer programs altogether.

Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

Ok sounds reasonable. What if its 68000 miles for syd to kul return in J? On this A330.

With the current discount it is I think 40k plus taxes Syd Kul return

Great fair when u choose the day flights!!

I meant after the discount with the normal redemption rates is it still a good deal? Assuming going on the A330 J.

I have 3000 in my enrich account lol but have quite a few Amex MR points.

I got the email from MAS and had a look and when I saw the search results thought it too good to be true - 30k points in J MEL-LAX one-way, which is what I need to book. In fact, I still think that is to good to be true...!

Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

Apply for a CC which gives you MR points would do it, not "buying" as such but the same outcome! Happy to refer anyone, e.g. you can get PLat Reserve, 40K points AND a flight to NZ for $395 annual fee.

Hmm also includes priority pass. Tempting!

I didn't see any mention of the 40k points .... is that what the referral is for?

keep in mind the bonus points takes a long time to come through, might miss this offer of 50% discount. But if you are after MR points in general then ignore me.

Also the priority pass i think is 2 entries? its the lower level one.

It is, but it takes about 32-33 hours minimum. So unless you really like flying, you might pass on that route despite the value.
