Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

I assume there is no way to quickly buy miles in their program?

Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

for SYD-KUL oneway:
Economy Basic 11.25k
Economy Smart 16.9k
Business Basic 20k
Business Smart 50k
First Smart 55k

No way to buy points, other than buying and redeeming American Express Membership Rewards points...

Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

BNE/SYD/MEL-KUL-LHR is 30k in Business oneway.
SYD-KUL-LHR is 63.95k in First oneway. e.g. 01Mar2013

Apply for a CC which gives you MR points would do it, not "buying" as such but the same outcome! Happy to refer anyone, e.g. you can get PLat Reserve, 40K points AND a flight to NZ for $395 annual fee.

Which card? Westpac or St George?

Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

What about the fuel fines etc??

I think you can "top-up" points for an Award, however you will need a minimum of 70% of the required mileage.

The feature is called Enrich Express, and top-up miles cost MYR 0.10 per mile + MYR 40.00 processing fee, with minimum 500 mile purchase.

That effectively drops the mileage price of SYD-KUL-LHR one-way into the lower 40k range, but unfortunately I don't have that many Amex MR points :(

It should be noted that, according to the Enrich T&Cs, once Enrich award tickets are issued, they are completely non-changeable and non-refundable. If you do not fly the booked itinerary, all miles, fees and taxes will be forfeited. (The taxes may be recoverable through legal action, notwithstanding....)

Still debatable whether, say, BNE-KUL Y return is worth 22.5 k points + ~$400 in taxes. My gut tells me no (unless backed into a corner).

I'm assuming, in response to markis10, that fuel fines are still payable on awards (and they are similar to SQ in that regard).

Kind of annoying that Enrich doesn't have a redemption chart, unless you need to log in to Enrich in order to access it (last time I checked they had a calculator but not a chart).

Maybe not. But for Business or First, probably more so...

An AAdvantage award SYD-DXB-LHR on QF in First is 80k + $83.60 USD.
A Malaysia Airlines Enrich award SYD-KUL-LHR in First is 63.95k + ??? in First oneway. e.g. 01Mar2013. Taxes on the paid fare are circa 400 AUD.

The QANTAS SYD-DXB-LHR FASA is 192k + $648.50. Earns 360 SCs.

I wish I could take advantage of this offer as I have quite a bit of AMEX MR available but I won't be able to travel during that period. Oh well.

A bit of an argument for quarantining MR points I think! Shame Citibank can't transfer to Enrich for me.

Makes sense; just trying to point out that Y awards are rarely worth it (especially for singles), but mileage promos like this sometimes can help make it a bit more reasonable.

Long haul premium awards are almost always the best use of points. That said, redeeming for a J award on BNE-KUL is mostly a wasted exercise since they only use the A330-300 equipment on that route, which has pretty poor J (assuming the old type of equipment).

A Malaysia Airlines Enrich award SYD-KUL-LHR is 63.95k + ??? in First oneway. e.g. 01Mar2013

You got those figures by punching it into Enrich calculator online?

Did a dummy booking on MH in J and it seems that the one-way YQ is around ~$330 (for SYD-KUL-LHR) then add about $80 in additional taxes. What I can't quite comprehend is why I can't book F from SYD (and thus the search engine only lets me book J, but ITA shows there is at least availability on MH F from KUL-LHR).

The trouble is that they make the J awards look even more reasonable. E.g. in the original SYD-KUL you would have been paying 22.K plus taxes for Y or you can now get 20K plus taxes for J. There are indeed some who would take the view that "I can get Y award cheaper" but suspect there would be even more who now think they can get J award at at Y price.
