MH Enrich "Live the Dream" Redemptions Offer

It is, but it takes about 32-33 hours minimum. So unless you really like flying, you might pass on that route despite the value.

True, but the first leg is overnight, so provided their J seats are not so bad, and with the softener of a cheap points flight, it's not a whole lot different than just spending the night at home before the flight. Anyway, I called, it is confirmed as 30,000 points one-way plus $600 taxes.

Their seats aren't too bad, I slept ok. But for me, at least, the timing is not great. Sure its an overnight flight, but you start quite late, you have your meal service etc then another in the morning. So the sleeping time is actually quite short. Then you get off at KUL, the lounge is nice, and if you like haagen dazs, you might not want to leave. Then you go to NRT (FL is really nice IMHO), stop over again, which may be good or bad depending on your preference, then finally get to LAX. Its more than doubling your usual travel time (vs QF for e.g.) and depends on what your time is worth.

But if you got plenty of time and particularly enjoy lounges and flying in J, then this is really good value for points/money etc. :)

am loving this. definitely F1 in March 2013 now in J.
a shame i can't think about any other Europe races for next year as KLN jnr will be doing Year 12. happy tohave a couple of days off in March, but not a couple of weeks

Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

Hmm also includes priority pass. Tempting!

I didn't see any mention of the 40k points .... is that what the referral is for?
Yes, you only get points with a referral, making the referral the best way to go by far!

Re: Enrich is giving a 50% discount on flight redemptions

keep in mind the bonus points takes a long time to come through, might miss this offer of 50% discount. But if you are after MR points in general then ignore me.

Also the priority pass i think is 2 entries? its the lower level one.
It arrived for my wife in about 24 hours?

Thats the quickest i have heard by far as the card had to be approved +/- that $500 dollar spend in first 2 months for the bonus points and the AMEX call person said 8-10 weeks. That might be separate though.

BTW you are talking about the referer's points right?

Yes referrer points but funnily enough I also found the usage points for my wife (i.e. the referree) posted much faster too. Maybe the conditions were different. i.e. no minimum spend.

On the SQ midnight departures (ex-MEL) many choose not to eat on these flights, and leaving at midnight most are quite tired on boarding, and it's not too difficult to get a decent night sleep (much better than the flights that leave from Asia at 8-9pm). Having said that I'd probably prefer a non-stop to LAX in economy to the very long journey via KUL & NRT, even in J.

What an amazing deal... for those asking about MH A333 J, it's a pretty good sloped-flat product - nothing outstanding but not awful. 772 is better - still sloped-flat but an amazing seat pitch.

That aside - does anyone have a list of routes MH will be offering F on during the promo period?

I already know:
- SYD-KUL (747) from 1 Feb until 28 Feb
- KUL-LHR (A380) from 1 Feb until 30 Jun
- KUL-CDG (A380) from ? Mar until 30 Jun

Anything else? I don't know where else MH fly their 747s, nor the exact retirement timetable. Any more A380s arriving during the promo period, opening up other routes?

Pity. I used the Virgin bonus to clear most of my Amex points...
Have about 4000 orphaned Enrich miles as well.

Those are the only F routes for now.
In the last few years, F has only been available on 2 routes: SYD & LHR.
MH being MH, anything can change, at any time.
The CEO said on the inaugural that the A380 will come to SYD....
My money is on A380 coming to SYD at some stage (don't know when).
Another possibility is that the 747's remain in service beyond 1/2/13.

Help required…to figure out how many points need to be sent over from Amex to cover.. Melbourne/Shanghai return in J
Their site is not helping……..or perhaps it is ME!!

Cheers.................. M.P.

Using random dates in the sale period (i.e. after 1 Feb) it is 55,000 points return in J.

Just had a look and the 30K J flights have now become 51K J flights to Europe.

Any opinions. Do you think that someone priced these to cheaply in the beginning and have realized their mistake or do you think they are testing the water and playing with our minds??

This is very annoying. I reserved one seat the other day but needed to book another. Did the amex points transfer Monday and they have just arrived in the Enrich account this afternoon. But now I don't have enough ... very frustrating!!

Thanks for the info - I didn't realise their F routes were so limited! Hmm, might see if I can find a reason to go to Europe for a week in Feb... would love to try out their old and new F at a huge discount!

~51k miles is the "normal" price for one-way in J to Europe (which actually means ~30k wasn't truly 50% off - but you'd hardly complain at that sort of "price"!). I just had a quick search and it looks like Y and F point costs are all showing at "normal" levels too.

I'd guess there's one of two things going on here:

1) Mistake or bug in their system, causing it not to quote the discounted rates.

2) IIRC, MH use a "dynamic pricing" system for their award seats based on expected loads (etc), so the rates can vary from flight to flight. It's possible what we're seeing now is 50% of a more "expensive" fare based on increased actual/expected loads, with the discount bringing it back to the normal, cheapest, non-special levels.

Which it is... I'm not sure. If it were #2 you'd think the cost would have increased for some cabins / days and not others, yet it seems every day and every cabin is showing the increased pricing - that being said it's possible they've simply tweaked their "dynamic pricing" algorithm based on expecting lots of redemptions via this promo (would kinda defeat the purpose though!) or maybe lot of people have jumped on board as news of it spread. Still, I'd guess #1... hope I'm right!

The only flights that seem to be coming up at the same rates as earlier are those to KL, not those involving a flight to KL and onward from KL.
