Having just gotten out of hospital last week with Pneumonia and Legionnaires, I will have to go to Bronze as my health isn't improving as quick as I thought it would be. Have a great night all.

Hi everyone, am trying to add another to bring it to 14.9

(have been talking to JessicaTam about this)

I have a friend from Colombia who has just arrived in Melbourne to do a short English course. She is NOT a member of AFF, but during years working with her she has had to endure my almost constant waffling about flying things :) So she is aware of the caper.

She speaks reasonable English, but has the Latin American accent. And having just arrived everything is no doubt a bit overwhelming. She has flown quite a bit so knows what an airport lounge is all about, and may one day master the art of identifying a plane by the wing tips..... I was chatting to JessicaTam about this friend and she suggested attending was a great way to meet some people in Melbourne, and when I thought about it, I completely agree. Even if you just have her in the corner so she can hear Aussies speak real English :)

If she can attend (I know it is very late to be adding someone) can I ask two things of you all:

1.- Be nice. She is a wonderful person. And it is a bit daunting for her to meet a group of strange AFF nerds, even though I say you are all stellar.

2.- Do NOT judge her by her association with me :) She has nothing to do with my short fuse and often jarring posts :)

Cheers,
Juddles.

juddles,

I inflicted the AFF dinner in Hobart on a long time friend last weekend and she survived and actually enjoyed herself. I vote we make it two weekends in a row to prove that AFF people are really (almost) normal.

ie I vote that you bring her along.

straitman, this is worse - I will be in QLD - she has to brave you guys without my support :)

P.S. love the use of the word "inflicted" :)

JT, kpc, straitman (and Sue!!),

thank you so much for making my friend so welcome for this dinner. I really love AFF - good people here.

I am sure you will all have a great night. Wish I could be there. I need to see these threads sooner to plan....

In any case, this fits part of my greater scheme. To insert truly nice people so that you all think I am nicer ;)

Juddles.

Ok one final update...The Olive Tree can fit a maximum of 15 people on ONE table, and we have exactly 15 diners confirmed atm :)
So I will close off any further additions to dinner now :). See you all tomorrow at 7pm, and please don't forget cash ;)

And Sonia tells me that they have plenty Score 7 Wagyu eye fillet on hand at basic price 400g for $44.00 so don't miss it.

I thought I posted here, but there is nothing??? Moderated?

In any case, I am now down to 80-85% due to some work things, but I will probably still make it. If I do, I look forward to meeting some new faces and catching up with old ones.

You can be late, as I know I will be, I could take a taxi from the airport direct to dinner but too poor for that, so it will be skybus into Southern Cross then taxi from southern cross to The Olive Tree. Expected arrival 7:15-7:30.
