Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Not by right of status… but thankfully they have at least given the KF Gold lounge/s a bit of a spruce up, and added toilets!
Not in T2 - I was there last night and was told I had to walk 150 metres there and back to Subway (at the mezzanine food hall/court/area).

Got a points upgrade to J on QF88 (QF metal) from ICN-SYD. Anyone know whether QF has managed to sort out a lounge access agreement, given there's (afaict) no Oneworld presence at ICN? The Qantas website doesn't indicate anything, and I'm not sure whether that's because there's no lounge access or simply that they haven't updated the site yet given that the route only recently launched.

I’ve read recently (since the flights started up) that QF will give eligible pax a pass for the Korean Air lounge at ICN. Not sure if it’s any good, but better than nothing!

Cheers,
Matt.

I'll be able to confirm tomorrow night!

Can you add QF lounge passes on an AA ticket flying QF metal?

I've a friend flying what seems a torturous SYD-LAX-PHL-BCN in a couple of months and thought to gift a pass for use before departing

Highly unlikely - even Qantas Club members are supposedly not eligible (by rule) to enter on AA codeshare w/ QF metal. In the U.S., AC lounges are accessible by QC and better, but a digital lounge pass won't be possible / visible for AA lounge agents.

For the first SYD-LAX sector if it’s booked with a QF code (QF metal operating) that’s a start. Key question is does AA ticket preclude adding a pass?

True - he'd noted an AA ticket on QF metal, so I've presumed in responding that it's an AA flight number. Worth checking with your friend, @bussyboy

An AA revenue ticket would most likely be AA codes but a reward flight more likely QF code on SYD-LAX. For some reason I leapt to the 2nd and more optimistic scenario!

Yep, all AA ticket and flight numbers SYD-LAX-PHL-BCN, codeshare equivalent of QF11 from Sydney from memory. Paid ticket...
Expecting the answer's no

Confirming that we do in fact get passes for the KAL lounge. This is the first time I've ever gotten a Qantas-issued pass for a different non-Oneworld airline lounge, I think!

It is a bit weird, even though a QP member on a QF*AA or AA*AA (Marketed*Operated) flight gets AC access.

I arrive in KUL at approx 1800 and have got a 12 hour reservation at the KLIA Sama Sama Express. I leave KUL at approx 0930 the following day.

I have got lounge access via my Amex. Will I be able to access a lounge when I land in the evening or will they only grant access in the morning?

Thanks

Sure, but there is a lot more to local cuisine than Nasi Lemak and satay

Even some local sweets and desserts.
I seem to remember they may have a more local flavour in the JLounge?

Simple non noodle and rice fare:
Rojak
Apam Balik
Roti Canai
Murtabak
Yong Tau Foo
Otak Otak

For desserts:
Kuih Lapis
Pandan Cake
Agar agar
Cendol
Ice Kachang
Pisang goreng
Bahulu

None of the above are spicy.

Maybe try a Rojak
Agree! If you have Priority Pass, try going to the Sphere Lounge at the Sama Sama hotel. Their satay was just as good as MH’s. You get a choice of 2 dishes from the menu.

I'm using the Sama Sama express lounge tomorrow [C5] via priority pass (VA WP give no lounge at KUL when in economy on SQ(.

I checked both out today (didn't access) - catering appears basically the same.

Great! Let me know what you think. The last time I was there, I had the entire Sphere lounge to myself. Food was slow but yummy so worth the wait. I only go there if I’m on onward dom flight, otherwise my preferred choice is still MH F lounge.
