Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

My son (over 18) is travelling to LHR on BA. It is a points ticket, and the only class on the first leg was Y to SIN. The SIN to LHR and Barcelona is in J.

Will he be able to access the Qantas Sydney Business lounge? When researching, I see examples of a much shorter first flight usually being able to have lounge access.

Many thanks - Posted in Qantas forum, as it is the Qantas lounge.

If I'm on a paid QF Y ticket from Melbourne to HKG and then a J ticket from HKG to Lisbon on Emirates (booked using QF points), will I have access to the QF or Emirates lounge at MEL? Thanks

As a QF Platinum, can I guest in one adult and one child at the EK Dubai first lounge (all on same booking flying economy)? The QF site says only one guest and the EK site only refers to Skywards platinum members allowing two children.

Planning on flying from Perth to London on EK metal. Also my understanding is that this can be booked on either EK or QF flight no.?

Hi all

Hoping to pick the brains of the brain trust. I am flying from KIX tomorrow (4 May 2019) on QF34 (KIX-SYD).
I am in J and am WP so all good for lounge access.
However, I believe there are 2 lounge options - the "KIX Airside Lounge" as featured on the QF website and also there is a JAL Sakura Lounge (as per the Oneworld website).

Does anyone have a view on which lounge is better? I would like to have a shower before the flight (hotel checkout is at midday and they will not give us late checkout).

Thanks in advance!

As QF WP I successfully guested my wife and 2 kids into the EK F lounge in Dubai in January, travelling from DXB to SYD on EK metal (QF flight number).

We will be in HKG for 5 hours - and my first time there as SG instead of WP. Connecting from QF to BA. We have previously enjoyed the CX Wing and Pier FLounges (Wing Cabanas in particular). I'm guessing the experience will be somewhat less this time, so what to do? I'm guessing the Pier J lounge, but what about the Wing J lounge, or other options? Does BA depart near the Qantas Lounge? Maybe we pass the last hour there? Thoughts appreciated.

Travelling in Y as a QF Platinum from Sydney to Nadi or Port Vila, QF-coded but non-QF/oneworld operated: The QF website says no QF lounge access, is this correct?

Yes.
WP need to be travelling on QF/JQ/EK/MU/OW marketed AND operated

If you were travelling in J then only need QF marketed flight.

If also a QC paidup member then QF/JQ marketed flight

I would recommend the Pier J over the Wing. Bigger area and more options. It also has a snoozing area.

Thanks for the quick response.

I agree with your assessments of the lounges, EK was always going to be my first pick :)
The 2 lounges in BNE are chalk and cheese. Shame the EK lounge is only open at certain times.

Oh and being able to board from the lounge is nice.

How acute are the lounge guesting rules in DXB EK? Mrs Albatross and I are travelling on QF marketed tickets on EK metal

We will go BNE-DXB and then each of us will connect to separate European ports. We will have checked in together in BNE but will diverge from DXB with one connecting flight leaving about 2 hours, then the other 3 hours.

Will I be able to guest her into the Lounge in Dubai as a QF Gold?

(for the romantic observers we will link again after 3 day)

My friend (not me, just yet) just obtained gold VA status. Hasn't received his new card yet, could his old card be used to gain entry to VA domestic lounges (i.e. any lounge that gold members can access) or does he have to wait for his new card? He used his complementary silver passes already.
