Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Hoping for some advice!

I'm travelling Bangkok Airways (PG ticketed) from Chiang Mai to Kuala Lumpur, via Bangkok. I have a Qantas ticketed (MAS operated) flight home later that day in Business class. Also Qantas Gold if that makes any difference.

Am I likely to be able to access any oneworld lounges in Chiang Mai (if one exists) or Bangkok? If so, I assume I wouldn't have my boarding pass for the flight home. Is a copy of my itinerary sufficient?

Thanks!

At Chiang Mai I believe there's only the PG 'boutique' lounge available for domestic use.
At BKK, dependant on timing, you can use CX, JAL or QR and, perhaps, the Miracle lounges if MH nominate them.

JohnK is probably better placed to advise.

If you hold QFF Platinum status, then you can take in 2 guests, regardless of the class you are travelling, and the guests don't need to be travelling with you, either... If you hold a business class boarding pass (revenue or award), then it's only a single guest you can take in, travelling or otherwise.

Cheers,
Matt.

Thanks Matt. Flying business boarding pass x 2. So we can take in 2 guests who are not even flying??

Ah yes - if there's two of you flying and you are both in J, then that's fine; Each traveller in J can guest someone, and that someone they guest doesn't need to be flying. Happy travels!

Thanks Happy Trails. So I should be able to access one of those lounges based on the fact that I have a MH J flight later that day, despite the fact my next onward flight is on Bangkok Airways?

For BKK-CNX and CNX-BKK you can only use the PG lounges.
For BKK-KUL you can use the OW lounges, if they're open.

CX is open all day until around 18:30
JAL is closed from 09:45 until 18:00ish
I've lost track of QR opening times, but I think 3hrs prior to the DOH departures.

Who are you flying BKK-KUL? If PG ticketed and not business class your flight out of KUL is irrelevant in BKK.

If flying MH economy BKK-KUL then Qantas Gold status is enough for any Oneworld lounge. If flying MH business BKK-KUL then you can access any Oneworld lounge + the lounge MH invites you to visit.

PG ticketed and economy.

I thought I might be able to access a Oneworld lounge based on connecting to a J flight that same day. But reading again, I see where you're going. I would need to be connecting from a Oneworld airline... and as gold, I'd get access regardless of the KUL-SYD flight. That's pretty much the deal?

Correct. In BKK you would need to be flying Oneworld to be able to access the Oneworld lounges as a Qantas Gold.

Hi all. Later this month am going on QF10 PER to MEL connecting to QF95 to LAX that evening. I am a Qantas Gold traveling PE. As its international all the way can i use the T3 transit lounge in PER or am I restricted to the Domestic T4 QC lounge? There is also an international business lounge in T4?

There will me myself and wife and 2 kids too if that makes any difference.

Hi All,

Question regarding lounge access in HKG for a SG flying on a QF purchased ticket: Melbourne to Seoul (Incheon) with the first leg on QF and the second leg on OZ, with no QF flight code according to the website.

Would I be correct in the assumption that I will have no access to the QF lounge in HKG as the connecting flight doesn't have the QF code attached (even though the ticket is purchased through QF) and that my SG would be of no use for any of the lounges?

Thanks for your help.

Correct. No lounge access in HKG unless you hold Star Alliance Gold status and could then access one of their lounges.

I purchase the ticket with Qantas but flight number are QF117 and KA782 show on QF website . rule saying i need to "departing on a oneworld marketed and operated flight" .

Do i have access to CX lounge with QF Status in this case ?

In PER you are limited to the domestic lounge. In your case the Qantas Club. The T3 transit lounge is only for those pax actually transiting on QF9/10.

Leave yourself enough time to go through immigration and secondary security screening after you leave the lounge. Then you will be limited to the gate area.
