Just received an email from Accor with a link to this website

ALL - Accor Live Limitless

So they claim Le Club is going to metamorphose into this new catchphrase. As usual, promises of wonderful new "benefits". Scroll down to the bottom and you'll find some pretty vague and general promises. New website and branding sounds like nothing much. "Enriched benefits" - wondering whether that is like enhanced benefits.

Some more commentary and a link to the press release, including comment on why Le Club is such an ordinary program, here. A fresh selection of cliches in the press release replete with "disruptive and dramatic" hype.

Always a bit wary of such marketing hype as it too often obscures a devaluation. Especially when the change claims to be disruptive! What do you reckon?

... received the Email as well.

I can't really perceive any reson to simply change the name without changing a program's benefits.

I too am a little suspicious ...

seamlessly connected ecosystem.

Looks like they're headed the way of QF and will be offering points and rewards for everything and everyone other than actual frequent users of their core service.

Yes got it too. Skeptical as well. Wish for the program: offer some aspirational rewards, instead of just being a % discount program.

I haven't received any email notification from Accor which isn't surprising. I find their communications to be sporadic at best - I hear more about the program from this site than from them  Hopefully whatever they call the new program they will look at improving communications. I have checked my settings many times and have selected to receive all types of email communications.

Also they announced a takeover of Mantra 6 months ago but rewards programs have yet to actually merge.

As per the latest teaser - got another email tonight - they haven't forgotten Mantra. The range of brands joining - the email mentions Mantra, Art Series, Peppers and Breakfree - makes this program more interesting, albeit not more inspiring.

Oh dear. Will Platinum be the new Gold? (Think I've heard that before).
No. Well, not yet.

The latest email also says no change to current tiers or earning thresholds.

There will be two new tiers - platinum and an invite only one.

And Points can be earned dining at Accor establishments even when not staying there.

So far it’s all good news.

I’m sure there will be a devaluation at some stage, but they haven’t announced it yet.

But moving at snails pace to actually combine, i made new mantra+ booking last night, and have le club bookings, if these were in one account id have higher status instead of lower ones separately.

Most of the integrations have taken a year or more..

I do like the sound of guaranteed bookable upgrades.
Just naturally sceptical. And I fear certain hotels will take the fact that Plats are no longer the highest tier to justify changes such as fewer upgrades, poorer quality welcome drinks, etc. Even if, as you say, formal devaluation may be a 'down the track' thing.

Just found out that points don’t get credited for bookings through Luxury Escapes. Bugger. We stayed a total of 14 nights at Sofitels in Bali and Singapore. Apparently Luxury Escapes is not a “traditional” travel agency.

If one can have Ibis business as well as Accor plus, this will only be of benefit as long as Gold's still get the room upgrade subject to availability.

If Platinum becomes the new Gold then just getting Accor plus seems like a much better deal

I'm Accor Platinum and its fairly useless.
I've been gold or platinum by default for about 8 years and in that time only had a couple of upgrades usually through making a bad google review where they gave me the line of someone I have to call every time I stay with them so that he can directly call the hotel and ensure they do what they are supposed to do anyway for their Platinum members . Its a joke really but they have good hotels everywhere.
This new rebrand won't make a tiger change its spots and its sooo..... naively European can I say?
Like French pop music - they think its cool but everyone else thinks its just naff.

Your extras in the hotel may be claimable if you can go through the pain of claiming. I once waited 6 months for a Europcar 200 points with Accor, not to mention the 3 phone calls.
