Lack of curtains separating Business and Economy on 737

This post is heading the same as some others, slagging off Y passengers.

Actually it's not. Someone else almost picked up my point - just those who disrespect those who have paid 4 times as much for business including everything that is included in that purchase. (Regardless of whether a rule or not) Qantas clearly annouce that the forward toilet is reserved for business customers.

No, not really. Just whY passengers who are too self-important or DYKWIA and don’t want to obey rules.

But it would seem the thread has past its use by date.

And those "types" generally don't turn around to see if someone is coming from row 3 or row 4! Their main concern is easy access to the loo without a queue. Hence why CSMs police the queue rather than access! I can certainly see the business logic in it, and also the competitive positioning business logic behind the way Virgin does it.

I have often noted row 8 9 10 interlopers from my row 1 seat.

There is nothing cheap about paying $177 for a 1 hour flight.

And it has nothing to do with lack of respect for other people. Far from it.

it's a lot cheaper then $800 or $1000

Not being concerned about inconveniencing others who have paid 4 times as much to purchase the use of the business cabin (including toilet) does display a lack of respect in my opinion. The lack of thought or concern that they might be waiting for the toilet is disrespectful. As mentioned I've certainly sat in row 1 waiting for the toilet only to have a stream of individuals coming up from economy (well after service is over). Even been standing up at my seat and had one push up the aisle.

From my perspective there is clearly a lack of respect in some

Sorry JohnK was not implying that you asked for it. All I am pointing out was is if another passenger seen this who is not CL, P1 or WP and known to the FA and they ask can i have some to, do you think they will be accommodated with the service
No need to be sorry. This is an interesting discussion.

I don't think the CSM/FA's will start providing these benefits for lower tiers even when requested.

Please note this does not happen on all flights. There are times when I don't even get a greeting. I'm ok with that too.

I remember the time a few weeks after my daughter was born in Chiang Mai in Sep 16 and I was going back to Thailand via QF23 with a PG connection. We left SYD late and it looked like I would miss the 7:00pm PG BKK-CNX flight and the 2 QF CSM's went out of their way to assist while we were in the air trying to organise to be on the next PG flight if necessary, transfer luggage etc and I had an escort waiting at the gate on arrival into BKK. We ran but we made the flight easily as that was also delayed. Even had time to get duty free.

These are the things that keep me at Platinum and mainly loyal to Qantas.

Interesting I look at it another way. Virgin offer true business class logic QF do not on the 737 800 especially on the longer flights say to Perth, NZ and where they need it bad is the Syd to DPS service.

It doesn’t matter whether they turn around or not. Every entitled Y passenger that uses the toilet intrudes the cabin on entering and exiting, holds the toilet up for J passengers for the duration of their invalid visit and contributes to the odour and stench of such a facility.

J passengers paid for a private cabin toilet. Not a <redacted> open to 200 Y <redacted> who feel that their own arbitrary judgement of “as long as it’s not causing a queue” justifies their use of something they did not pay for.

Just to clarify I wasn't referring to the first part of what dk4 said only the highlighted section

Wow, thatz a bit much.

let me make this clear. I do not see a need for a blanket ban on economy using the front coughper. It makes sense in many times. The issue, in my opinion, is the thinking of people when they make the choice to use the front. If they don't care about inconveniencing business customers when making their decision. Not giving a cough about who they might inconvenience lacks respect, in my opinion.

Scum. Now coughroaches. How low can we go I wonder.

Referring not to an individual but to a group of subhumans who have no concerns or respect for others and engage in the act of theft.

If ppl want respect, they should act respectfully.

I apologise to coughroaches for the nature of my post.

You know, if you call Y pax <redacted>, you should consider that you have lost the argument.

Oh wow , and to think I had a post deleted (and a black mark on my record..) for a very oblique reflection on the intentions of a member.

No lack of respect at all.

Boarding a flight? Make sure you go before boarding in case you can only use the front toilet and you will inconvenience the business class passengers.

Seriously? You expect every decision/choice people make to consider how it affects other people? Where does it end? Impossible and not warranted.

And it really is irrelevant what you pay for an airfare. Almost every person on that aircraft has paid something different. In my opinion $177 is not cheap. I have paid more on some flights. You're not going to get more respect from me because you've paid more. That would not make any sense.

Sorry maybe I have misread what was being referred to. If you are offered business class headphones and champagne then from the post it appears to me that it is referring a the passenger sitting in economy (Ie row 4) being offered this. If they were already in business then that would not apply

It operates on two levels... platinums in economy getting offered business class amenities, but also on international 4-class flights, business class high status passengers getting offered first class amenity kits, food and beverages (including vintage champagne). So basically, a class above what they have ticketed.

Then again back to the topic. I have sent an email to QF (just so I can experience the automated response) as has been suggested by some here with a ? on the curtains /rope to fence off the business class area again. I can just imagine if they did introduce a rope all the DYKWIAers doing the high jump and sprint to the finish line. Sorry had to be like that but this thread is really quite amusing. At the end of the day we all just have to use plain old common sense about the whole issue/non issue and yes I hear you say sometimes plain old common sense is not that common. No popcorn

All I can say is Pooh to you:oops:

Just a thought. Ok for the people who want to walk forward and use the lav at the pointy end because you consider you are allowed and disregard a placard that you are required to abide by as per previous post of CASA guidlenes and you know who you are.
Q. What did you do when QF still had curtains and closed them after take off to the business section. Did you still just walk straight through to the business section of the plane ??????
