Kogan Mobile services will be shut down following the wholesale provider ispONE entering voluntary administration today. Telstra has done a deal with Aldi’s mobile company to keep its customers going, however
Kogan Mobile did not reach the same deal, and as such Telstra will be closing off those services. EFTM has the details below.
In a blow to those 100,000 plus customers across the country on
Kogan’s low-cost mobile plans, Telstra today announced that from today “you cannot recharge” and that regardless of your plan’s expiry date, all existing voice, SMS and data balances will be available for up to 30 days.
That means, if you signed up recently for a 365 day plan, your mobile will not last that long. Telstra will be pulling the pin within 30 days. You will have to contact
Kogan Mobile for a refund of any outstanding credit which won’t be available.
Making matters worse for
Kogan customers, Telstra isn’t waiting the full 30 days. Over the next few weeks they will progressively start moving customers of
Kogan Mobile to their “limited 7 day plan”. This is basically a holding plan which gives you just 20 mins of calls per day, and 20 text messages – and no data.
