Hi All,

I'm about the book a jetstar flight between Adelaide to Brisbane on Max bundle to get Qantas status points.
I've noticed same route has a another option with with the connecting flight through Melbourne for around the same price.
My question is, if I buy the connecting jetstar flight, will I get the equivalent of 2 flights Status Credit (Adel- Melb, Mel- Brisb) from Qantas? note they're 2 different JQ flight numbers according to the booking page.

Thanks All.

Yes.

Be prepared for a long wait for the flights to credit though. My last flights with Jetstar on a Max Bundle took almost a month to reach my account.

cheers... did you have to put a missing points claim or they eventually come through themself?

Yes.
Albeit I've generally found the price for the Max bundle increases prohibitively on multi segment fares

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I did put in a missing points claim, as soon as I was able, and then I waited about a month ;)
Yes, getting credit for eligible JQ flights is quite shambolic. Really, either Qantas or Jetstar need to seriously improve their act. It is the ONLY partner/Oneworld airline that I have had problems with in this regard.

Moreover with JQ, the credit process is consistently bad and almost always requires a missing points claim. One recent claim came back (a month after the claim) annotated as denied as it “had been previously credited”. This was not true and it took follow up with Qantas to get it settled correctly. It s simply a minor, but irritating, inconvenience (certainly a first-world problem) but I can imagine that people requiring the points for a transaction or sweating on the status credits for a status promotion or retention would be rightly angered. I’ve currently got a couple of claims in but they have only been lodged two weeks ago.

It's the one thing stopping me from considering flying them more... which is probably a good thing for QF as they can be lucrative often with a Max Bundle over the standard Y- on Qantas.

Best advice if you need the SCs quickly is to call and they will fast track the processing of SCs.

I flew JQ on 13 May and that flight re-qualified Platinum again with a reassessment date of 31 May. I called on 29 May and they processed the SCs for me manually and were in account within 30 minutes.

Beware of connecting flights on Jetstar if you are travelling with checked luggage, because Jetstar does not check luggage through to final destination. You will have to pick up and recheck at the changeover point.

Qantas Points and Status Credits usually take 4 to 8 weeks to credit for me, even after putting in missing points claim in about 7 days after travel.
