Mr Palmer, Queensland's richest man, bought the Hyatt Regency Coolum Golf Resort and Spa in the middle of last year, flagging a major rejuvenation of the premium 150ha site.
The Courier-Mail understands Hyatt Regency's contract has been terminated after it had operated the property since its opening in 1988.
It is understood every staff member will receive a $500 bonus and job losses are not part of Mr Palmer's vision.

So which global chain is going to take it over I wonder, or is he going to follow in the RACVs footsteps?

The property still seems to be taking reservations under the Hyatt brand.

What's the nearest airport to Coolum and what's the travel time between it and the hotel? I'm half-interested in trying to do a sidetrip to try it out one weekend.

It's pretty much on short final at MCY!

Was at Hyatt Coolum at the weekend - saw Clive at Eliza's restaurant.

Hope it stays with Hyatt - quite a unique property.

Suspect an international hotel chain has a bit more experience running a resort than a bunch of mining execs.... but I can see potential with a few dongas next to the greens for the FIFO golf tournaments....:p

The Hotel is now in Administration, the plot is thickening!

The Supreme Court action was up for mention today...I wonder if Clive has tipped it into Administration because of the apparent $60M siphoned off?? (away from him getting his grubby hands on it?)

Well he is going to set up his own football league!

As I concluded on FB, he's the human headline. I hear at the case yesterday the injunction was extended
