Free breakfast: Yes in no 35 or lounge. Chose lounge.
Welcome drink: 2 vouchers, forgot to use
Welcome amenity: Bottle of Frankie Shiraz and hand written card.

Recommend: Yes especially with an snu and upgrade, give you plenty of space, and we had great views over the art centre to the bay. Plus access to lounge.

Service can be mixed, checked in downstairs as it was quiet , found the treatment quite dismissive and cold. Previous trip friendly 🤷‍♂️

But at the lounge much friendlier and service oriented this stay, much more interested in us as guests etc…

Anyway this was Short break for our anniversary, and use up expiring SNUs.

Enjoyed afternoon tea/canapés and breakfast in the lounge. You could probably not eat anywhere else and be quite happy.

Forgot to use the drink vouchers though , should have got some to go hot drinks.

Also went to dinner at miss mi at the movenpick for something different, Accor explorer used without issues and also given complimentary sparkling for our anniversary which was very generous. Food was also excellent so highly recommend.
Chili crab and prawn dumplings, chicken ribs, barramundi and wok fried vegetables.

@Muppet501st which of the 3 would you recommend after your stays there, if knowing one had to pay the going rate of each property?
I’ve stayed at the last 2 and Sofitel is miles better but it’s also in a completely different part of the island so depends where you want to stay.
Personally I didn’t enjoy the Pullman and probably wouldn’t go back there.

Yeah. I won’t go back there.
Heading back in Feb, and having our birthday party at Novotel Nusa Dua, then back to the Mercure Kuta, which we enjoyed.
Was booked for the heritage Kuta which we stayed at last year, but with the new hotel in front of it blocking the beach view from the pool, we cancelled.

Visited Lisbon with my partner this holiday season ahead of our trip to Canada to meet my family. I chose this property as it was affordable, in a decent location in Lisbon and was Accor meaning I could hopefully get some benefits for the stay. Our flight into Lisbon was delayed by over 5 hours due to mechanical issues (which mean €400 in EU261 compensation per passenger was paid out by TAP Air Portugal for the troubles) meaning we ended up getting to the hotel around 1:30 AM. Fortunately, there was no trouble checking in as reception was 24 hours.

Overall, the hotel is perfectly fine. Not the worst ibis I've stayed in but certainly not the best (more on that in a future post). Aside from being on the top floor, no upgrade was provided, but again that wasn't much of an issue because of it being an ibis (I mean how much luxurious could their suite be?). We did find the room a bit cramped particularly given we had two large checked bags, a carry on bag and two backpacks.

Nonetheless, the room was perfectly serviceable for the 3 nights we were there:

A desk area provided a small work space for me to take care of some administrative items the following morning:
IMG_4615.jpeg

As for the bathroom, it was of decent size and fortunately was neither tacky nor featured a nasty shub:

Although we did not require late check out as we wanted to explore the city on our day of check out, the hotel did store our various luggage no problem. I know this may seem like a completely unremarkable point, but I have stayed at other Accor properties in the past where this wasn't the case (i.e. see my review last year of the Hotel Stratford in San Francisco).

Stayed at this hotel the night before our trip to Canada. This hotel was chosen as our first flight had a scheduled departure time of 6 AM and given we'd be up for the better part of a day (arriving in Toronto at 11 PM local time), we wanted to maximize our rest.

This hotel ended up being a very good choice and one that I would recommend for people who are in similar situations as us. The hotel has an airport shuttle that departs every 20 minutes around the clock meaning we didn't have to worry about whether there would be an uber picking us up. The hotel also has a lot of amenities you wouldn't find in a regular ibis such as a coworking space, ping pong table, child play area and the like. The hotel has a restaurant although the pricing is slightly more than I would expect from an ibis (then again I am a cheapskate).

The room itself was modern, spacious and well appointed:

IMG_4728.jpeg

It should be noted that the TV has streaming capabilities including Netflix, something that again I wouldn't ordinarily find at an ibis. Another item I wouldn't expect to find at an ibis (and not pictured) was the inclusion of 2 bath robes and slippers. The last time I've seen that at an ibis was when I stayed at the ibis Ambassador in Seoul back in 2023.

Waiting for us was a couple of welcome gifts:

The bathroom was modern and didn't contain a shub:

The hotel has a small outdoor gym:

I finally had some time to sit down and write this review. We spent 7 nights at the Pullman Maldives and, since I couldn’t find many detailed reviews beforehand, I wanted to share our experience. I may update this as I remember more.

I booked through the app, using 62,000 points which took about $2,000 AUD off the price. The total booking was USD $4,455.46, leaving USD $3,014 to pay after points—or so I thought. The app says payment is taken immediately, but it isn’t. Instead, a few days later you receive an email from Guest Services with your booking details. This email explains that you must book your Maldivian Air flights through the hotel and also pay the green tax. This increased my total to USD $4,214.33.

I was told the hotel had to book the flights or the boat transfer wouldn’t be arranged. They also advise that you won’t receive flight details until 24 hours before arrival, which turned out to be true—we got them while in transit. The email also stated payment was due two weeks before arrival. However, a few weeks later I received another email saying I had to pay within 24 hours or my booking would be cancelled. This was confusing since we were still four months out. I emailed three times with no response, and only received clarification after contacting the General Manager, who confirmed payment wasn’t due until two weeks prior. Overall, the booking process is convoluted, and the app doesn’t clearly outline the additional costs, which added quite a bit to the total.

We flew Malaysia Airlines business class. Getting to the resort was a trek: flight to KL, a 6‑hour layover, flight to Malé, a 3‑hour layover, then a Maldivian Air flight to Kooddoo, followed by sorting bags and a speedboat to Pullman. We left home at 4pm and arrived around midnight (AUS time) the next day. A long slog, but after a good night’s sleep, you really do forget about the journey.

We arrived around 7pm local time. Check‑in was extremely efficient—they put you straight into a buggy and take you to your villa. You’re assigned a Guest Services contact and he adds his details into your WhatsApp. What I didnt love was that there was a bit of a hard sell on excursions and upgrading to the underwater villa for a night or two.

The main restaurant offers buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food quality is very good, with multiple sections including a carvery, Maldivian dishes, pasta made to order, curries, and casual options like burgers and nachos. Drinks were slow to arrive, and accessing menus via QR code wasn’t ideal—we wanted to switch off and not use our phones whilst at the resort

There are several other dining options included in the all‑inclusive package. Phat Chameleon, the vegetarian restaurant, was our favourite—the food was divine, but we only managed to get in once as it was fully booked. Melange is the main buffet and we ate there often. Souq Oven is marketed as Middle Eastern, though we didn’t really see that theme, but the food was good and the views were beautiful. The Hub is the pool bar, but food there is not included in the AI package. Saffron Affair is a lovely bar for evening drinks, though again the QR code ordering was a bit frustrating.

We stayed in an Ocean Pool Villa, which was absolutely stunning. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was essentially outdoors, with a bathtub plus indoor and outdoor showers. The minibar was extremely generous, replenished daily, and included in the AI package. Housekeeping was exceptional—almost as if they waited for you to leave and immediately refreshed the room. Truly faultless.

The spa was just okay. I had an issue with a package change and didn’t receive the full service I paid for. Also, prices don’t include taxes and service fees, which add about 27% on top. If I returned, I’d skip the spa.

Because we stayed 7 nights, we received a sunset cruise or fishing trip, $20 off laundry, an extra 30 minutes at the spa, and use of bikes. The sunset cruise was lovely, with bubbles served on board. You’re given a voucher card at check‑in, but what they don’t make clear is that you must get it stamped when you use the services and present it at checkout, or you’ll be charged.

We didn’t do any excursions or snorkelling because we saw plenty of sea life right off our villa.

The staff were wonderful—warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. We tipped a few people, including housekeeping, with Aussie dollars, which they seemed to appreciate. If I went again, I might bring some USD, but I don’t think it really matters.

The resort is truly stunning. I arrived stressed and exhausted but left completely recharged. I would absolutely return, though next time I’d consider a stopover in Singapore. I’ve seen that Luxury Escapes is doing charter flights, which could be an option. Besides points I didn’t receive any status recognition during the stay so booking via Luxury Escapes might be a better way to do it and you see the full price up front. Does anyone know if you can still get your points is you book this way????

Checkout was seamless, but again you’re at the mercy of Maldivian Air. Even though our flight from Malé wasn’t until 3:30pm, we had to leave our room at 6:30am, losing half a day to sit in the very basic lounge at Malé.

The pros: the all‑inclusive package is extremely generous, the rooms and villas are beautiful, and the staff are exceptional. The cons: the long travel time, reliance on Maldivian Air scheduling, the voucher system, the QR codes everywhere, and a slight hard sell on arrival.

If you book, my tip is to make your restaurant reservations before you arrive. Phat Chameleon was our favourite, and I’d absolutely book it multiple times.

Disappointing about the lack of status recognition. Would love to see some pics of the villa and around the resort.

When things go wrong ...

I requested approx 2pm check-in on the booking and in reply to the 'anything we can do for you' e-mail a couple of days before arrival.

I arrived at 2:30pm and room not ready 'please wait in the lounge and we'll let you know'. 3pm came and went; checked with them "will be around 3:30pm". Really? Oh, well, took myself on a walk around the complex for 30 mins; hot and sweaty, but I'll just straight into the shower in my room. Passed the duty manager on my way out, who was coming to see me; apologies and offered a voucher for dinner in one of the restaurants.

When I returned at 3:30, a call to housekeeping returned a promise of 'definitely 10 mins', which ended up my being in the room at about 3:55; 25 mins of sweaty waiting.. Really poor effort.

Had a shower, then went for a swim in my private plunge pool. Ewww .. a band aid lying beside the pool, and floor not vacuumed properly. Back to club, requested further clean.

Later, seen by Club Manager and then Director of Rooms, with great apologies etc.

Later, to bed at 10:30 and asleep ... until 11:30 when the first of a procession of trolleys rattled past my door over the tiles and chatting staff. Off and on until 2:30, but then a couple of trucks the other side of the room. Phoned complaints. There had been a party down the other end of the property and all this was the clean-up. Careless arrangement to clean up noisily outside guest's rooms after midnight.

Further apology from Director of Rooms .... No problem with the very late check-out I originally requested (4pm). In the end they waived the room charge except for deposit paid at check-in and they gave me a hotel car to take me to the cruise port.

Obviously something very wrong with the room prep - ?missed? ... ?missed again?, then done too hurriedly. Function clean up just bad management.

Other than all that, it seemed a pretty good place.
