HH start the new year early

Well HH must have had an itchy trigger finger today. They've begun the 2016 year review, except 2016 is not yet over for them! Happy New Year all.

Yeah. .. it actually been like that for a couple of days.

It's the same as last year - except I had some stays between Christmas and new year that I needed to requalify - I was unable to tell if they had credited correctly until 2nd April.

Staus level changes don't come in until the end of March. Until then I wouldn't get too excited!

If that's what your card says, go with it.

My card doesn't have that on it....

Yes, I tried it when I found that my account had been upgraded from Gold to Diamond a couple of months ago - wouldn't have been due to my stays, nights or base points -so I presume it was my Macquarie Hilton CC spend. Email sent out with a couple of minutes with similar dates as yours. I'm a happy camper and going to make use of this year...and try to keep up my spent on Macquarie Hilton CC.

Just for the record, although I have the same credit card, my spend was nowhere near what is normally required for diamond. It wasn't even enough to get the free weekend night certificate this past year. Hard for me to make any conclusions from this really.

Maybe so, but many cardholders did get a Diamond upgrade without meeting any of the requirements. I had done a status match to Diamond, so I didn't get that!

As per DC3, I appear to have Diamond until March 2018 as well - received the email as soon as requested the card congratulating on being upgraded to Diamond. Also visible when logged in that to keep in 2018 requires 60 nights.
I have the Hilton CC and hit the $12k spend to trigger the award night upon anniversary of card - later this year.
Have never stayed at a Hilton but will do next week, which has been booked for some months.
If true then good news but I would be less than impressed if I had stayed the 60 nights in a year and this was being provided to someone who had never stayed a single night at a Hilton ever.
Also noting it makes it difficult to request a fee discount for card renewal when it comes up.

Just noticed SPG stays for the year have just been reset - must be normal practice this time of year.

I just received an email from HH welcoming me to diamond for another year. Seems like HH are a bit quicker with the reset this year. Has anyone been bumped early? It'd be interesting to watch that and see if 31 March still holds true.

I got a letter saying welcome to gold (something I've never had before), and I was expecting to drop back to blue because I only stayed 6 nights/2 stays last year.

I'm not sure what's happening, but I do have a complimentary VA status match up my sleeve and I've requaled for IHG gold so let's wait and see when March 31 rolls around... Watch this space!
