All great saying it here, but have you given both the property and the program this feedback?

In order for them to get this right, they need to know where they are failing - so they can fix it.

If you don't tell them, how do you expect staff to get consistent & properly acknowledge their elite members to make staying at Accor worth their while.

I will in writing. Doing verbally is going to be a struggle to make myself understood.

Got my platinum card today as well. Will test it out out the Sofitel went worth in Sydney this Sat night.

Late 4pm checkout will come in handy.

Upgraded from el cheapo classic to superior rm, and 4pm check out. A few minutes after arriving in my rm, there was a knock on the door and this was delivered.

As there was no proactive recognition of Plat status upon checkin, As my room cards was getting coded, I asked if a room upgrade was available. I was told this was already organised and I had been given a Superior rm.

I had to ask for an upgrade today. they told me that I have been upgraded but I honestly cannot see how, its a tiny room with little space to swing a cat.

Upgraded rooms are not necessarily larger. What hotel and what room did you book?
 
Novotel St Kilda (again).

I got the room on an offer so it cost me less that $100 anyway. The bed was comfortable so I had a good nights sleep, which is what really matters.

One issue may also be that upgrades are not a stated benefit for Novotels :shock:

On first glance its easy to make a mistake. Upgrades only at Sofitel, Pullman and MGallery.
 
Yes it is true the upgrades are not a benefit at Novotels, yet last time I stayed there (2 weeks ago) I was upgraded to a suite. I live by the old addage of 'if you dont ask, you dont get'.
 
I always ask at time of booking in the field below. So I have asked well in advance for an upgrade if available as well as early check in and late check out if possible. Haven't had a no to any of the three questions, yet. Let's see what happens on Friday night.
