A QANTAS flight attendant said to have had a mile-high tryst with actor Ralph Fiennes then spent the night with him, friends claim.

Lisa Robertson is being investigated by the airline over the scandal, which she has denied in a statement to her bosses.

But friends claim she admitted the encounter to them and that she went on to spend a passionate night with the actor at a Mumbai hotel.

Actor Ralph Fiennes says he was seduced by an Australian stewardess during an alleged steamy, mid-flight bathroom encounter.

Ending his week of silence on the scandal, the Oscar nominee has spoken out about his liaison with Qantas flight attendant Lisa Robertson.

"She initiated the encounter," his media manager Sara Keene said.

"This woman seduced him on a plane. She was the sexual aggressor.

Argh! All this talk is making me think about the cute FA that was serving the rear part of the Y cabin on my recent PER-BNE flight. Very lovely lady with dark hair, full luscious lips...you get the idea.

Didn't even manage to get her name or talk to her, although I joked a bit when she was using the crew mirror at the back to check herself before landing - managed to give her a little jump.

She used to be a flight attendant out of the Jetconnect Auckland Longhaul Base before leaving (because if she didn't leave she was going to get the boot for sleeping in a coat locker) and I flew with her only once.

She already had a reputation before this took place among crew - It was a crew member who dobbed her in and crew always look after each others back - unless your unpopular.....

However I will comend Lisa on being very upfront and not hiding anything, and if anything she revelaed a little too much information (Now I have horrible images of her arms and legs flinging around the toilet!)

I haven't flown since this incident. I have a feeling next week I'll look at the QF girls with renewed interest.

More seriously, it seems to me that the girl is trying to get as many FF miles out of this as she can. I would have thought that personal dignity would dictate that she avoid any publicity.

Just like after Clinton epsiode we had the "Washington Willy" etc, now we have the Qantas Quickie. Does she want to be stuck with this reputation? Why go on television with the logistic details?

An airline would need to spend millions of dollars to get the amount of free publicity world wide that Qantas has got out of this.
Publicly they have to be seen to be moralistic but privately I'm sure they consider it the advertising coup of the century.
