Feels Like Home

Not everyone. While I would use Singapore I would not use Emirates.

Matt
That makes two of us Matt. My Emirates (Y and J) experience was average at best, but everyone else seems to think Emirates service is the bees knees.

People say it as they see it.

We've never been granted a "free" upgraded to J on Qantas but on our two flights into/out of Adelaide in July on Emirates we were both ways. Food and service was excellent. Not a kangaroo in sight.

Pickup on departures level? Fine in the mail :p

Watching the ad it seems QF is only showing the destinations it still serves Overseas?

Yes my reaction exactly. The advert has the 'feel good' aspect QF are after and it is well constructed, but it does not make me want to rush out and book to fly QF. Nor does it give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about QF, but perhaps for non frequent flyers it will stick as the "national carrier". The Telstra ad from several years ago used a similar tear jerking series with family members waiting for calls from other family members who were overseas. It at least reminded the viewer they had family who would appreciate a call.

I like the ad., but as others have said, I don't only want to come home, I want to go somewhere first and that's just not possible from PER.

No problem viewing in Germany where overseas content is often hard to see thanks to GEMA.

Well done! The ad is beautifully made and captures the emotion of going home perfectly. First time I had that feeling was in 1972, at the end of 12 months student exchange, as I climbed into what was then a very new Qantas B747.

But as is the case for many of us living overseas, my next Qantas flight home will be on Emirates. Not a problem.....but not the same.

MrP has mentioned that on tough working trips in the US then the Aussie accent on boarding is very welcome. (Which is interesting I guess.) He liked the ad.

or if you do pay more to travel on a OneWorld airline "Fairer and Simpler" have killed the rewarding aspect of that loyalty as well.

Made me bawl.

Darn that oestrogen while I was growing the kidlet; I used to be so much tougher!!

There is a sentimentality to boarding a Qantas flight at an OS port to come home. If I'm at the airport at the end of a holiday, I'm already resigned to it finishing, but the QF staff are such a welcome sight. Particularly if you've just come off a US domestic flight or two ...
