Awesome! Great campaign so thanks for sharing! :)

I love stepping on board and being greeted with a "Welcome Back"!

They reflect the special pull of home, the love of family and friends and the way Qantas helps bring Australians together around the country and around the globe,” added Mr Joyce.
Really? For me it's the other way round. Stepping on a Qantas plane at the end of a trip means I'm going home to be people I hate (family) and away from my friends.

I agree to a degree. The amount of times i've been on an Australian Airline leaving a foreign country and wishing the plane would go tech so I wouldn't have to go home so quickly (typically after 2-3 months of being away too).

I just need to find a job that keeps me on the road 365 days:)

Looks like a great campaign and yes trades on that "I feel halfway home" when getting on QF to come home.

Accepting for some the sentiments of "I don't want my holiday to end" is a factor, there is something for many of us about knowing you're "nearly" home.

I'll have to reserve judgement as all I can see is "This video is not available in your country."
Rather seems to defeat the purpose.

I accept it is a well made ad but, at the risk of being the Scrooge of the party, I find it mawkishly sentimental. I feel as if I am prying on people's private lives as it pulls at the heartstrings. I'm sure it would encourage some to get on a Qantas flight but not me.

Mr Joyce's comments don't seem to match his desire to use cheap offshore labour for cabin crew

I like it. Definitely plays on all the right emotions. Would have liked to see a little bit more of the red tails, but I'll reserve judgement until I see the individual 30 and 60 sec versions.

Seems to be a lot going on at QF at the moment - new seats, increased flying, new ad campaign. I sure hope this is a sign that the corner has been turned and the Flying Kangaroo is back on a path to success!

Love it. Beautifully done. Was time for an emotional, heart string pulling campaign!

This is a difficult one as labour in Australia is very overpriced, I am sure Qantas would love to support locals where possible but outside influences have made it almost impossible.

Definitely a well made tear-jerker. I often wonder how many potential pax are influenced by ads pulling at their emotions, or by the $$ they are paying out.

This is BRILLIANT Red Roo. I absolutely love it and think it is a very cleaver campaign that taps into the incredible feeling that so many Aussies have had - which is feeling like you are already home when you see that Roo pull into the gate!!

I distinctly remember that feeling in Singapore in 1994, of stepping onto a Qantas Jumbo after I had lived in Finland for 12 months. I forgot what an Aussie accent sounded like, and I got on that plane, so excited to be back home (it was January and I'd been in -24 a few days before) to see family and friends that I hadn't seen for 51 weeks.

I'll fly you any day just to get that sense of the familiar after I've been in some remote part of the world.

Well done.:D

yes, you mean this bit.

Mr Joyce said now was the right time to invest in reinforcing what makes Qantas special.

What makes Qantas special is Australians working and caring for Australians as crew and maintenance I would suggest.

While the intention is good, the walk doesn't equal the talk. Since all the other spin from Qantas on this web site I have started to read more carefully the actual words used by Qantas.

Well done Red Roo, Easily the best campaign since I Still Call Australia home. Reminded me of arriving home with my daughter waiting at the gate for me to walk off.

I like it, and have certainly experienced that emotional pull of the roo tail being the plane you board for that final leg back to Oz after a long hard trip.

Not the same if it's a codeshare of course! If QF see this as an important part of their competitive advantage, hopefully it might lead to more red tails in more places if we see a few 787s appear in the QF fleet to come and some network expansion, but I digress. :)
