Hi,
Has anyone else bought one of the insurance products that mean extra flybuys points earnt at Coles?
Capped at 1000 extra flybuy points per product per month. (a product is either car insurance, home insurance, and life insurance).

I bought a car and house/contents insurance policy starting on 1/8/15 (so that counts as 2 products, so I should get 2 extra points per dollar spent at Coles up to the limit)

2 months later, and 2 phone calls later - still no extra points. Gentleman at the call centre told me to wait another month.

Reasonably hopeless in my opinion.

I have heard other reports of late or no payments of the "extra points" triggered by the relevant insurance policies. I know it takes at least one month for the "extra points" to be credited but given the policies are fairly new there might be an extra month to wait at the beginning. My guess is that the extra points will start to show in early October, based on an estimate of 2 months after the August start date of the policies. Good luck with your points chase.

Very very cheap - hopefully I won't regret it!

Just my opinion but I think insurance is one of those products where policy wordings are more important than premium paid.

Yep and I carefully checked the PDS before switching.

Only have the one product (3 years) but we do get up to 2000 points per month.

Most months we get there, so it's worth at least a notional $100 per year.

Helps to know what you are looking for in the PDF though. I find it hard to compare apples with apples. It has been a very long time since I have made a car claim - and never for house/contents.

After posting on this forum, the points showed up within days. (not sure if that was a coincidence). It wasn't what I expected though. The first month of insurance from 1/8-31/8 (that is a full month) I didn't get the extra points - and a noticed in the small print that the last month is the same. Guess that means only extra points for 10 months of the year? I expected it to be 11 months.....

Hi, we'd be keen to look into this for you and help you out. You should have received your Extra flybuys points for August given you signed up in that month. Can you please send a private message with your flybuys number and we will investigate and get back to you.

To anyone following this thread - the flybuys points were correct (just in arrears due to a timing issue). The flybuy rep also confirmed that you get the full 12 months of 'fast track points' if you renew your policy.
