Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

I don't seem to get anything. I've stopped spending on this card now - hopefully that will kick the back end engine into spitting me a bonus offer or two :)

I didn't get anything for a while and then l spent about $10-$20 a day @Woolies, for a week or so and now l get a Woolies promo weekly, even though l have significantly cut back my spending total amount during that flurry of spending l first did to get the promo, l still pop in almost once a day to grab something, so that might have something to do with the promos, to get me to spend more??? Location might also have something to do with it? there are 2 Woolies (across the road from each other actually) and a decent sized IGA all within close proximity too.

I did stop using the EDR Card and the EDRCC for about 3 weeks (recently) and l got a BWS promo. I have now started using the card again and the usual 'weekly random' offer has come back, spend over $90 for x points, $100 for x etc etc...

Good luck Moopere

My feedback is that I generally get one or two offers a week, I use this card heaps...! My wife is waiting for her card (needs to do the in shop 100 pt check) but until then she also hammers my card...

I run at least $10k through this card per month, currently making trips into store to top up card since this month I will run more than my limit through this card (currently $20k)

I also play the uncertain shopper with a few other EDR cards, and guess what....? No offers at all on these cards...! Not one offer, zero, zilch...!

So from my situation I believe that the bonus offers are directly related to card usage, i.e if you use your card often enough then you will be sent offers, if you are shy with scanning your card or you don't shop that often then you get no offers...

Thinking about it in even more detail, I have a feeling that if you spend with Woolworths Liquor a lot then you will be tempted to "share" your cash with their other brand BWS. This also seems to be the case vice-versa. This may also be true with Big W & Woolworths Supermarkets.

My honest opinion is that the bonus rewards offered via email are targeted to loyal customers already, so if you are not using your card then you do not get regular offers.

I guess if you play the uncertain shopper long enough you will receive a "Where have you been" or "We miss you" offer, however I believe that the regular spend and scanning the EDR barcode is the best way to farm for bonii...

Well thats my opinion of the system anyway...

Are you guys getting confused?

Most of these offers appear to be for the Everyday rewards program; NOT the Mastercard.

I was wondering that myself - which of these offers related to expediture on the mastercard?

I believe that all offers I have received have been from scanning the barcode on the back of the QEDRCC NOT from swiping or inserting into a chip reader...

But I could be wrong...!!!!:!:

The offers I have received are all related to the EDR card. I have not used the CC card at any Woolworths store. (Amex Platinum Charge Card at 1.5 points per $ is my preference)

Still a handy card to have .....now that Medibank Private don't accept Amex. :(

I'm still intrigued by the credit limit process though. MrsH just received hers with twice the limit I got. :?: I'm starting to worry I have a bad credit report somewhere. :(

Me too...! I easily got a $20k limit on this card while I had another few cards with a combined credit limit of $30k, so in effect had $50k credit limits on all cards.

Thing is I retired a few non FF cards and only kept the QEDRCC, now after applying for a few more cards (Amex & Citi) both have been declined... which leads me to think I also have a bad report somewhere...?

Tony, your not self employed are you...?

Well I scan my EDR barcode everywhere I can, I get nada.

When I first got the EDRCC I got a deal from them to save 10c/litre on fuel so long as I use the epump facility at Woolies petrol - nice, I enjoyed that, but the offer expired after a bit and since then, nothing.

I'm using Amex at the Woolies type stores now so lets see if anything else comes my way from either EDR or EDRCC

Could be true, but maybe not. As I've just posted elsewhere, like you, Citi and Amex direct won't deal with me either, but I haven't hit a wall, just something funny with those two organisations. I have received two additional cards from different banks since being declined by Amex earlier in the year and only just this week got 'accepted' for Citi Gold even though I applied for a Citi Platinum (so thats getting cancelled straight away as the Citi Gold is just a junk card with no points and poor earn.)

I'm going to keep trying but have almost exhausted this years freebie points churn offers I'm afraid. Really upset with myself that I took too long to respond to the BMW Amex 10K free offer that was only posted for a short while.

Are you guys getting confused?

You don't need to use year EDR mastercard to pay.

I agree, however myself & others have received fuel offers which may or MAY NOT be linked to the EDR system...:p Since it promotes the "PayPass" feature only, no mention of EDR on that email...

I'm not fussed if you move my posts, however I really think that most people with this card will use both the M/C & EDR card at some stage in their life. this being the case would it not be also correct to merge the threads together...?

After all, can you actually apply & receive this card without also being a EDR member...:?::?::?: I think not...!;)

I am with you Serfty.
Scan the back of my Woolies EDR credit card then pay Amex Ultimate.
Now that gets the points ticking up on the office consumables or shopping!

I haven't used it in Woolies yet (don't do much of the grocery shopping) but I assume that you don't need to flash the EDR card any more if you use it as they'd be linked?

100% incorrect - you must scan the EDR barcode on back of ECRCC if you want reward recognition - simply paying with the EDRCC will not achieve this.

Doesn't everybody scan the EDR barcode then pay with AMEX?

2.5pts is always going to beat 2pts isn't it?

The EDR Bar Code is on the back of the CC. So you don't need the EDR card any more.

You'll probably need to explain it to the check out person....I'm not sure Woolworths have explained it to them!!

Only me and a few others here which Amex refuse to deal with (Actually think anybody working as a small business / sole trader is finding it hard to jump on the Amex wagon)

Sure I'd love 2.5pt / $1 but for me it is not possible...

Tony, your not self employed are you...?

I suspect that my employment history may cause a little blip when I apply to an organisation I haven't dealt with before. I have actually worked for the same business for over 10 years, but legally I have only been employed by the current entity for two years. (Oh the quirks of Australian Tax laws and selling businesses!!!)

I've been with amex since 1996 so it was 8 days from application to receipt of the Amex Plat charge card.

I do like the ability to pay at the pump at Caltex service stations on the EDR CC and then receive the invoice via email.

For me
Earth Gold Amex is $1=1 point. (Earth Gold MC is 0.5)
ERDCC is $1=1 point.

I don't carry the Earth Cards around with me everywhere, but l do the EDRCC.

Well, I have an Earth Platium Amex and it's $2=3 Points, so the Dual Card usage is the go.

Nothing's really changed for me actually, it's just the card I scan for EDR as a chip.

As posted elsewhere, I have found the best way to avoid confusion is to reach over and scan the barcode myself.

Be careful! It is all part of the Woolworths master plan to turn us into check out chicks/chaps.

This week the EDR bar code, next week your entire grocery shop. :p

Hasn't that already happened with the self-checkouts...:p
