When will the next A332 Arrive, How many are coming? And will vh-xfa and xfb be retired when the next two arrive?

Not sure when the brand new A332s arrive, but they will have new hard product - The current two A332s vh-xfa and xfb will be refitted with the new hard product and re-entered into service. By 2013 it is currently expected there will be six A332s in the fleet.

Maybe they were short of actual hangars. I understand the coat rack is a rail, rather than a hook?

There is a rail but it has these metal bits sticking out with holes in them and coathangers through (but hard to explain). There is room for 6 hangers behind both sides of the aircraft from memory. With only 4 people sitting in the cabin at the time and only 1 with a jacket to hang the only way they would have run out would have been if there were zero hangers on board!

When will the First 737-700 be painted in the new VA livery and will it have 2 class layout?

From what I have been told its the 737- 800 first then 737-700 and last but not least the E190 (rumours are the E190 will be 1-2 in J class)

When will the First 737-700 be painted in the new VA livery and will it have 2 class layout?
First 737-700 to be repainted and re-configured will be VH-VBY (50th Livery) in very early december (4th if i remember correctly), followed by VH-VBZ.

There were 21 737-700's now there is 15 left. Since VBY & VBZ are owned, the 13 others will be retired to old lessors.

So in future you will have 80+ 737-800's 2 737-700's, 18 E190's 6 A330's etc.

Not wanting to sound like a fanboi here....but

Greige is such a depressing colour and that curtain looks naff, couldn't they have found a more elegant way to hang it? Looks like my mum had a go at it. I'm underwhelmed by the J seats.:( I thought the DJ fit out had it's quibbles but I'm finding it hard to like the QF version at all. Were they going for reassuringly predictable in their design?

FYI - shouldn't this be in the QF forum somewhere?

I have to agree here. The QF cabin is just plain and boring. I do generally prefer non-leather seats on an aircraft, however I must also say the new DJ leather seats are a vast improvement on the old ones. The DJ cabin definitely looks funkier and has a bit more glamour to it.

I find the new Qantas interior very dull and bland. Comparing to two, the DJ interior just has a more colourful, welcoming and cheerful look. The leather i think looks much better. The only think QF has an edge on is the IFE.

I find myself agreeing with Jack Melon for once:shock: (No Offence Jack:D), its a very plain plane, and agree re the curtains, WHAT were they thinking:shock:

The Qantas cabin is refined and functional. The Virgin cabin has been tarred with the same tacky brush that strikes everything with the Virgin brand. Those different coloured head rests remind me of that horrible MH cabin with the bright oranges, reds and greens that belonged in the 80s.

mmm refined and functional? More like dark and depressing....lol

I like Holdens...............LOL:D:D

*Raises giant "Who Cares!" flag* At the end of the day its just a big heavy metal tube that gets you from A to B quicker than the alternate land based transport methods. Generally when travelling in economy, the colour of the seats and wether the headrests are mixed up or not are of very little concern to most :!: (Personally [and as much as I love Virgin] I like the Qantas 737 better, I like everything to be clean cut and symmetrical, but thats just me)

Leather may look better; but cloth is generally far more functional and comfortable from a PAX perspective! (at least this one's)

Leather is easy to clean and doesnt smell when drinks food and spew are spilt on it, Virgin had a 737 700 with cloth seats and some of the staff called it the City of Baby Spew.

Yup leather is the cheaper option, a LCC legacy that VA just can't seem to shake.... One day hopefully!

Thanks for the pics but I read in a couple of articles that the new J seats would be leather whereas those pics look make the seats look like cloth. So, I'm a bit disappointed.

Qantas to debut next-gen Boeing 737 with futuristic cabin - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller

Apart from the cool cabin design, the seats on this latest 787-800NG will be the same as Qantas’ six 737-800s already in domestic service, except that the business class Marc Newson/Recaro seats will be covered in a grained ‘claret’ leather.
