Try MEL-BNE-CNS in Flex Y.. that’s 60 one way, and then either do the return same way for another 60, or direct CNS-MEL for 30 in Flex Y (would probably need an overnight in CNS).

Thanks. I'm struggling to find that route for under $900. Is that an unrealistic goal or do I just suck at searching?

Husband needs 40 status credit to have the 2400 gift thingy
Would prefer international as he can pick up a couple of things:)
Sydney is departure point thank you

Surely somewhere in New Zealand makes the most sense? 40 status credits for a round-trip sale fare and easily done in one day. :)

Thanks:)
So you can do the turnaround in a day ? No airport or such issues?

Yes, easily. I think he would need to clear customs & immigration but otherwise it's easy enough.

Also consider SYD-CHC-SYD on Emirates as it's an A380. Still earns 40 status credits if booked on a QF flight number.

Ok.have to check the times lol he would probable want breakfast at the lounge
Appreciate the advice

Hi, am I not using the QF Multi-City booking tool correctly? It tells me I can only book 2 sectors on any given day. Was looking to price PER-MEL-SYD-BNE-TSV (stop) and return.

I'm not 100% sure this is the right place, and I couldn't find anything when I searched the fora, but here goes:

I was just looking at a status run to NZ from Canberra, to be taken in February 2018.

When the options came up there were flights back from CHC to BNE and then on to CBR, but the total SC earn for those 2 flights (CHC - xBNE - CBR) was 40 - even though they seemed to be on QF flight numbers and operated by QF, going through SYD or MEL the SC earn is 120. The flight from CHC to BNE is QF134.

So I went to the QF calculator to enter CHC to BNE, and it wouldn't let me enter BNE, the only available Australian options being OOL, MEL and SYD.

I ended up booking through Sydney, as that showed the status credits as I would have expected and I wasn't really that fussed by the difference between SYD and BNE (i.e. timing was similar and total trip length close enough, and while the bus from Int'l to Dom is a pain I've included a few hours to leave the airport in Sydney and explore rather than take the shuttle).

I was wondering if this is a glitch in the QF system, or whether I'm missing something.

Thought I'd bring it to the attention of the community - particularly the bit about the CHC-xBNE-CBR SC earn only appearing as 40 through the booking system.

CHC-BNE has been missing from the calculator for quite a while so the booking engine returns an incorrect figure. It earns 80SC each way in J, flew it myself in Aug.

xBNE and xSYD are both 240SC return from CBR. I imagine xSYD is a bit quicker?

I can't believe QF still haven't fixed BNE-CHC on the earning calculator...

As far as I can see, the only difference between travelling via BNE or SYD is that you arrive in Christchurch at 3pm on the outbound trip rather than midnight.
