It applies to ALL QF marketed and operated flights, in addition it also applies to trans-tasman flights marketed by QF and operated by EK.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

There is no requirement that the journey commence in Australia is there?

I could only find this one to NZ. For a limited time, you'll earn double Status Credits on eligible Qantas operated domestic and international flights and Emirates operated flights with a Qantas flight number between Australia and New Zealand~.
Can you share the link for the world wide?

You have the right one. There's an important "and" in what you quoted :)

Thanks. I really didn't see the connection at first. I can happily go ahead and book

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I've just booked MEL-SYD-CHC-BNE-MEL for 1.6k in J for 260SC (520 with the promotion). This works out to 3.12 dollars per SC.

Do it twice and you're right on your 1,000SC Target.

I'm trying to get 500SC so that means 250SC with the double points promotion. Noted ex-CBR I can get 280 SC's in J for $1.9k, CBR-MEL-SYD-CHC-BNE-CBR. I think I can probably change it a little. I'm going to take a week off also, so was hoping to go somewhere else, but for example flights in J to Tokyo are around $4k and less than 200 SC's!!!!

Any other suggestions on getting 250 SC's before the end of July :)

Like I said, fly to Auckland for the day in J and book another couple of flights @25 points each to make it up?

Durafax, after 3 return trips to NZ in one year, I think I did in one year, have now done 10 or so in a bit over 3 years, some were in F and J on EK and some were on QF's own JC, I did get to retain SG.
I pumped quite a sum into QF's coffers.

Yeah whether it is Canberra to Auckland or Christchurch in J I can't seem to do better than that anywhere else globally. Even the EK F flight has a worse SC per $ ratio (although tempted to try and do it one way just for the experience).

RichardMEL, I presume it was this one:

I'll agree, not sure of the reason for AustraliaPochie posting, but :rolleyes:...

Or repeat 7 times to get to P1! P1 for only $11,200!

I *think* the canine poster was referring my post above about doing 7 return trips to CHC to attain P1 with the DSC promo...

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I went for NYC from PER thru SYD for 1440 SCs each like we did a year ago. Have listed for a points upgrade from J to First and we hope upgrade fairy is ready willing and able. This way it is quick and easy with no crawling around too many terminals. I added a stop in Sydney and 4 nights in NYC is enough for us. I will use Citi Prestige to stay 4 nights and pay for three.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I'd have to do that trip to NZ 5 times if that was all the extra flying I booked this membership year. I think I'm better off aiming to retain WP next year. I'll probably have 3 big international trips next membership year so I think if I go for P1 that'd be a good candidate if everything works out.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I need advice!

I need 35 SC to retain gold by the end of the month. With the double SC promo, I can just fly one economy round trip from Melbourne. I need to fly on 21, 23, 24, 25, 26 or 28 March. This will just be a day trip.

Where should I go? I want to pay the least amount possible, and I'm departing from Melbourne. But I would pay an extra $50 or so if there's a decent location - or at least a decent lounge to work in.

Thanks for any advice! I'm going to book tonight....

MEL-ADL return for $290 on the 28 March. 20SC (40 with DSC) and the QC in ADL is not a bad place to do some work.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Just interested in what the lowest $/SC people have come up with utilising the DSC (decent runs ie >100SC)?

Good question.
Mine is 4.75 (400 credits) but I think there are better rates. I plan on making up the difference with nice champagne :p
