re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I understand that only Emirates to NZ will qualify if not on Q metal. I hope I am wrong. So International basically needs to be on a Qantas bird.

If i read the t&c correctly, you are right Pushka.

"An Eligible Flight for the purpose of this promotion means any Qantas operated flight with a QF flight number on the ticket where Status Credits are normally earned, excluding Classic Flight Rewards and any flight with a QF flight number on the ticket which is not operated by Qantas including Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, Valuair, Jetstar Japan, Jetstar Pacific and OTHER PARTNERS AIRLINE except for a Qantas marketed flight operated by Emirates between Australia and New Zealand with the following flight numbers: QF8764, QF8763, QF8762, QF8761, QF8770, QF8771, QF8766, QF8765."

Looking to get to plat as well, would be flying over easter long weekend and need 185 pts from HBA... thinking NZ but open to suggestions?

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

I'm thinking an overnighter to NZ. System crashing for me currently.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Just picked up SYD-CGK-SYD over Christmas in J for $2258 and 480SCs :) Limited availability so get in quick. Lines up nicely with MH724/MH723 for same day transit across to KL.

MEL-OOL in J r/t for around $1300 will get you 240SC with DSC

or MEL-BNE-CNS in flex Y r/t will do the same.

HELP! Im stumped this is giving me a headacre all morning.

Is there a $+ time cost-effective way to get 60SC from SYD (120SC with the promotion)?

I've looked at SIN return, which gives exactly 60SC for $600 but its 20 hours of flying in Y...

how about SYD-CNS r/t in flex Y (or TSV)?
or SYD-BNE-CNS/TSV in disc Y r/t

SYD-ASP would do it (more than)

SYD-MEL-OOL-SYD

all in Y.

or even say a Y jump across to AKL, CHC or WLG

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

SYD-xMEL-LST Flex Y
LST-xMEL-SYD Red e-Deal

$538 on a random Saturday, can be done in a day.

Thanks guys :) Never been to LST / ASP so this should be good

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Decided on Adl - Mel - Akl -Mel which is complete in 1 day and time for a bit of lounging. HLO yielding with DSC 400 Status credits for $1900. Have to go to Mel that day anyway so very much worth it. WP here I come!

So tips for entering AKL? I would like to grab some duty free items for the kids - I gather I just disembark, move to transit area where the shops are and then reboard assuming HLO? Oh, plus some lounge time. All on Q metal so hoping all comes through before bigger trip in April. 5 hours in transit in AKL. In J and SG now.

Some of us opted for the triple points on the "gift cards"

Oh well... At least this year I may not need more SC (P1 is fantasy)

Happy wandering

All right, the latest DSC offer is upon us and much sooner than I'd expected. Wondering if I could please get some pointers as to qualifying routes I should focus on to maximise this - say my target is in the ~1,000 SC region? The AKL F run has been fun although perhaps not so stellar value without a sale.

I understand that for best value I'll need to head offshore - is something on MH J with a QF code involving CGK/TPE the go?

I don't think QF codeshares on any MH services.

That'd be correct. Also QF codeshares, with the exception of the EK NZ routes, aren't eligible for double SC.

I've just booked MEL-SYD-CHC-BNE-MEL for 1.6k in J for 260SC (520 with the promotion). This works out to 3.12 dollars per SC.

Do it twice and you're right on your 1,000SC Target.

Or repeat 7 times to get to P1! P1 for only $11,200!

I would like to get P1 but not that badly. If I did ever go for P1 I'd want my runs to be taking me to e.g. LTS or LTG, I think and probably want to be doing at least ~2k SCs before going for it.

Ah yes, no QF codeshares on MH metal... I saw a '... is operated by Malaysia Airlines' on a QF search at OMG o'clock and mistakenly assumed there'd be a QF code on it.

Or repeat 7 times to get to P1! P1 for only $11,200!

:D
Anyone game? This is AFF, no judgment (from me anyway)
