This is a very good cabernet. It’s warm, well-flavoured, well-structured and persistent. It tastes of violets and blackcurrant, cloves and bay leaves, though running through it there’s a redcurrant-splashed-with-dust element that is most attractive. There’s a lot of tannin here too; it sits as a long, stretched-out frame on which the fruit sits. If it wasn’t for the alcohol warmth, and the slight dip through the mid-palate, I’d be pushing even higher score-wise. - 93+ CM

I bought a second case of the 2019 (shared the first), a friend went for a case of the 2018. The 2018 may outlive the 2019 if you want to keep longer term, 2019 could go a bit flabby if held more than 3-4 years.

Thanks for heads up. I won it at auction and tried it yesterday. Wow, what a fantastic wine. Massive red bursting with fruit and yet manages to balance everything.

or 12 St Hallett Higher Earth and 6 Blackwell for $360, averaging $20 a bottle. I reckon that's a good deal. I bought a six of the higher earth a couple of years back and opened one straight away and enjoyed it, cellaring the rest.

Yes i have had it, Has many signs to what i think can be a good wine. i do agree, theres alot of cheap meshach floating, i got mine for around that price. if you like the blackwell, thats not a bad deal at all

Controversial take - but despite having had fancy hard to clean/easy to break top of the line Riedel and Waterford crystal glasses before, I actually love the weight, rim and general suitability of the Krosno Harmony glasses. Feels good enough to have something expensive in, wide enough bowl for something that needs a lot of oxygen, but also totally fine to put a $12 white alongside vietnamese takeaway with mates without worrying about it.

Yeah, I have some of their Prosecco glasses which I use as general all rounders for all types of sparkling when I have guests over. I have two riedels when it's just me and Sarah.

For reds, I use the Alex Liddy large Bordeaux glasses, the ones which will hold a whole bottle and they have generally been good to clean and not too easy to break
