Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

If anyone is interested: my two Amex cards (Qantas Ultimate and Platinum Charge) both have offers for Lathwaite's - spend $150 get $50 back.
Ended up redeeming one of these credits to buy 2 bottles of Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz 2013 for $80 per bottle. Has a 4.2 rating on Vivino. Total cost with $10 postage minus the $50 credit = $120, or $60 pb.

This thread is bad for the wallet... just picked up as well, thanks. I generally try to keep a $30 bottle average, I'm scared about the gradual price bracket creep!
Tell me about. Have gone from obsessively accumulating FF points to obsessively accumulating wine!

My points and wine collection like yourself are going in drastically different directions - I stupidly lost about 200k Asia miles, should have just redeemed for general goods but been too tied up to pay attention and they expired. Wines, on the other hand, both of our wine fridges are full...

Trying to get my hands on a bottle of the Cullens to try, but was still a bit too expensive during the sale last night.

no worries, you're welcome - that's not the first time someone's said that about it, what others do you like?

even without using polystyrene boxes, having a cellar, or renting offsite storage, your wine could still be fine, but at least avoid bright light

shame you missed when they were $70 :(

The SC Pannell Smart Grenache is the closest in quality for my tastes. Tonic Grenache is different style but smashes QPR at under $30

St Hallett have a 6-pack of their 2017 Blockhead Shiraz as a members special for $100 with free delivery. Makes for a nice mid-weeker. Not a sensational price at $16.70/btl, but may interest some.

It's free to become a member.

BWS has it 2 for $40, with a rewards card that becomes $108 for a 6pk.

Meh.
From BWS Website:

10% off any 6 or more wines: The additional 10% discount does not apply online in conjunction with Multibuy promotions or Exclusive Member pricing. Multibuy ('2 For' & '3 For' offers) and Exclusive Member products will be included in the 6 bottle calculation however, the 10% will not be applied to their promotional prices.

It will work in store, believe me.

Blackwell punches well outside price point IMO. No idea about Blockhead.

Regarding Blockhead, I must admit here to a certain bias I have with wine.

I just find the label very crass, if that is the term? I know many would think that a wine should be judged just on it's content's merits, but I am not so rational. I hate cheap gimmicks, bizarre labels, etc. I value the same wine better if in a heavy bottle with a decent punt. That is just me. I dislike the random/jarring/aesthetically unpleasing Blockhead label. There are many tens of thousands of good wines out there, so I happily discount this one just for that silly personal reasoning. :)
